About this ebook

Millions of Americans have to deal with thousands of dollars worth of bad debt. I say bad debt because believe it or not there is such a thing as Good Debt. What this book covers is how to EFFECTIVELY deal with bill collectors, and lawyers who are threatening to sue over your debt and legally and ethically improve your credit profile.

You will learn how to manage your life in such a way so as to reduce your debt load and negotiate with your creditors and collection companies so you can settle your unsecured debt for as little as 25 to 50% of what you oweLEGALLY!

You will discover how banks and credit card companies take advantage of consumers in order to charge over draft and over limit fees.

You will learn why you should never, EVER hire a Debt Settlement company. There are a few honest ones out there, but by and large most are huge rip offs. A Texas jury recently awarded consumers 13.9 million dollars in damages from a Debt Settlement company that ripped them off.

By the time you finish this book, you will be able to effectively and BOLDLY deal with bill collectors, and the credit bureaus by learning how to use federal law and state statute of limitations to the fullest extent possible.

Finally, at last YOU will be in control of your financial life!

This is where editors put an “Author Biography.” You know, a little information about the author. It’s where the editor uses cleverly worded snippets’ to tell you what an expert the author is in the subject of the book’s material. Well if that’s what you are expecting to find here, I’m afraid you may be disappointed, “Cause I’m just gonna “tell it like it is.” I can see your mind turning right now. “Does he really know what he’s talking about and WHY SHOULD I BUY HIS BOOK?” I was an investigator for 20 years and made a mid-life change of careers and got into marketing then started my own business. One business failure, some serious health problems (with the usual outrageous medical bills), a bankruptcy, and divorce later… I assure you I am an expert on debt, bills, bill collectors, negotiation as well as credit restoration. I co-founded a successful credit restoration business that helped hundreds of people get out of debt and restore their credit. I know what it is like to be successful and near the top of the mountain, only to be toppled and take a headlong dive to the bottom. Failing isn’t anything to be ashamed of. Abraham Lincoln failed several times before becoming our 16th president. It’s overcoming failure and doing the hard work to get to where you want to be that is important. So, get up, dust yourself off, and climb that mountain! The information provided herein really will help you settle your debts and/or restore your credit. All techniques and examples given are legal and do work. Additionally you won’t need to spend thousands of dollars paying someone to do something you are able to do yourself. Plus, you don’t run the risk of getting ripped off.

    PREFACE

I’m not sure any-one person ever really writes a book by him/herself. I know in my case I had a lot of help writing this book. I must first give thanks to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior to whom all honor and glory must be given.

You know, this may sound funny, but I want to thank all the creditors and collection agents I have dealt with in the past who really educated me in, what is commonly called, the School of Hard Knocks.

I also want to thank: Sandra Berger, my biggest supporter and source of constant encouragement, Nicole Bloom, the most wonderful daughter a father could ever want, and Brad Ness, Director of Business Development, Chandler Chamber of Commerce, Chandler, AZ for having been a source of constant support and inspiration for many small businesses, and mine in particular, when I co-founded a credit repair company a few years ago.

If you are like me, you will want to know What makes this guy an expert on this subject? I’ll be the first to tell you I am NOT a financial guru who promises you great wealth and freedom from debt forever. That is totally dependent upon you and what you do with the information in this book. I am someone who has been through the ups and downs and I can honestly say I am a very fortunate man. I learned some valuable lessons (the hard way) and now have an opportunity to share these lessons with you. I also founded a credit repair company a few years ago and quickly learned how the credit bureaus and collection agencies function.

If you are hoping to pick up this book, read a couple of chapters and have your debt deleted and your credit in fine shape, then this is NOT the book for you.

We do not get into debt overnight and we do not LEGALLY get out of it overnight. Now hang onto your britches because you will be taking quite a ride. May God bless your efforts.

    FOREWORD

Hi, I want to share with you a little about my experience in making lifestyle changes that led me to being more financially responsible.

I have personally used many of the techniques outlined in this book and can tell you from first hand experience, THEY WORK!

Personally I was blessed to have not been too deeply in debt, but as a single mother with three teenage kids, every little bit spent on unnecessary expenses is a waste of money.

Due to my divorce, I ended up owing the IRS approximately $7,000.00 and was making $1,000.00 a month payments to them. I had no idea that it was possible to negotiate with the IRS. After having met Joseph Bloom and sharing my circumstances with him, he advised me to call the IRS and talk with them. He outlined how and what to say and I gathered up the courage and made the call to the dreaded IRS. I had a conversation with an IRS representative on the phone (that lasted all of 15 minutes) and my monthly payments were reduced to $50.00 per month. More importantly, Joseph suggested I find another accountant and also talk
