"Love is our origin and our final destination.
Our spirit was animated by the loving energy of a higher power,

PREFACE
Mystery is the great unknown, a concept that transcends any and all known human understanding, a truth that is unknowable except by divine revelation. We can never truly understand the vastness of the universe, the secrets it holds, or the power of its cosmic energy. That’s why so many people turn to spirituality as a way of gaining insight into the divine mysteries that exist beyond our comprehension.
When we embark on a spiritual journey, we are seeking to unlock the mysteries of the universe and to gain access to divine knowledge obtained through spiritual growth and change. We become more aware of our own inner wisdom and open ourselves up to a greater understanding of the world around us. We learn to appreciate the interconnection of all things, recognizing that all life is connected in ways we can only begin to comprehend.
As we seek out spiritual guidance and wisdom, we come to understand the power of faith, love, and gratitude. These values guide us as we explore our potential and our connection with something greater than ourselves. Through prayer, meditation, and introspection, we can unlock mysteries that lie deep within us and open ourselves up to a new level of consciousness.
It’s through this process of spiritual exploration that we gain access to an inner strength and wisdom that can be found only in the depths of mystery. It’s through unlocking these mysteries that we can find true enlightenment and discover our true purpose in life.
I have often visited old graveyards to gaze at headstones, I read their name and wondered upon their life. The tombstone typically has the year of birth, a dash, and the year of death. Our dash symbolizes the time we have on earth and how we choose to spend it. It’s up to us to fill this dash with as much joy, love, and purpose as possible. Each day is a chance to further us spiritually and emotionally, to explore our world and discover new experiences. Take time for yourself, listen to your heart, and allow yourself the freedom to experience life’s precious moments.
It is important to remember that life is finite, and that death need not be feared. Death is simply the passage of life, a transition into another realm. We must strive to make the most out of our lives, embracing every moment with an awareness of its fragility. We have been given the opportunity to appreciate our lives and those around us. We must take this opportunity seriously and recognize that our lives are all too fleeting. We must remember to cherish each moment we have in life.
We can look back on our dash
with pride and gratitude, knowing that it was well lived. Make sure our dash is a beautiful reminder of the life we led.
This story is about reflecting on death so that you may better enjoy life. It contains true-life mystical experiences and much from my imagination, with Spirit’s guidance. When my father died from complications of Parkinson’s, I was with him and was blessed to witness his soul leave the body. What a gift it was to know without a doubt that we are Spirit having a human experience. Upon death, the spirit of each of us returns to Source.
In the years that followed my father’s death, I emotionally supported my mother, who died of dementia in 2019. My high school sweetheart and wife of twenty-seven years had passed in 2018. But the experience of grief from loss can lead to a spiritual awakening, if it is approached with intention and wisdom.
Imagine having no fear of death, how your life thus would be and what you could accomplish.
May this story help you grow in Spirit.
I wrote it for myself; may it serve you as well.

AT THE END OF MY RAINBOW
There I sat on a stump, dreamily looking at the end of this rainbow. I saw it through the trees after a gentle rain that flavored the wind. I had a thought: if I entered it, all my answers, my joy, my wishes could be found there, at the end of the rainbow.
Racing from the stump, I arrived to see the rainbow shining on a large rock sheltered by tall pine trees, as if to hold it safe. You might think it’s not possible, but I jumped up on that rock with anticipation, entering my rainbow.
Instantly, I felt a little dazed, for I was witnessing the forest in a whole new mode. Seeing colors and waves I had never experienced; my eyes were opened to a new reality. It was magical—slowly turning around, perceiving the forest from inside my rainbow—an experience beyond anything I could have imagined.
Looking out with arms raised, I rotated on the stone, basking in what my eyes took in. Feeling the heartbeat of the stone enter my feet and travel up, never before had I experienced such peace of mind. I felt this deeply loving presence, as if someone else was there beside me. Is someone here with me?
It was not my ears but something inside me that heard, Yes, I await you!
Instantly, I felt a serenity and oneness with all that is. It was like crying, laughing, and feeling joy for no reason at all—a bit like eating a spoonful of chocolate ice cream for the first time, not even knowing that ice cream existed.
My senses were heightened beyond my understanding. On that boulder, I could experience the colors of my rainbow all around me; I heard things in the forest I had never heard, and I saw things I had never seen. Mostly, I just felt indistinguishability with the forest.
I could not see another person, yet it felt as if someone took my hand. Soon I was floating above the planet, passing through the universe at the speed of thought. I saw planets, stars, and all the matter and energy that the universe contains. More than anything, there was empty space with unseen forces that could be realized only by having the experience. There was a scent that I could not describe in words. But there was no awareness of time—until I had the thought of the large rock and was instantly returned, no longer feeling someone’s hand on mine.
I stood for some time, letting this experience soak in, eventually sitting on the boulder. I had this feeling my life would be different from here forward, full of mystery. The moment I questioned how long this would last, the rainbow dissipated, and in a few minutes, I came back to reality feeling it was time to leave. Walking away, I turned to look at the boulder, wondering if I had truly just experienced this or if it had been a dream. I looked all around, searching for someone, certain someone had held my hand. But I was alone, so I headed to my cabin.
I arrived home, filled a glass from the spring in my backyard, then sat on the back porch and reflected on my experience. I was sure it was not a dream, and I wondered whether it would have lasted longer had I stayed open to the experience without questioning.
I heard in my thoughts, Correct!

MY NAME IS LIAM
My parents’ home sits on fifty-five acres next to a national forest—isolated, with no close neighbors. I grew up exploring this forest; it was like a second home to me, my place of worship. I walked among the trees, touching their bark and holding their branches as if shaking a hand. I was an only child, and while my parents were not exactly neglectful, they were rather accepting of my choices, even my decisions to go out into the forest all alone. Sometimes I would not return for hours, and occasionally I stayed out through the night.
I once fell asleep in the woods, only to be awakened by a brown bear nearby. It looked at me with passive curiosity. As I looked at it I said, Well hello!
Eventually I got up and slowly walked away, and the bear went and smelled where I had been lying on the bed of pine needles. It followed me for a while, and it crossed my mind if it would follow me back to the parking lot. Wondering how people would react, but it disappeared.
Eventually, it came time for me to have my own home. I chose a piece of land not far from Ma and Pop and built my log cabin with a nearby shop for my woodworking. I built furniture and cabinets, and I very much enjoyed using the wood lathe to make bowls, vases, and boxes. Much of the hardwood I used came from the woods on our property.
At the beginning, I just created projects for money—but then there was a turning point in my craft that changed how I created. It became more intuitive; my craft became more heart-based. I established a good reputation that spread outside the local area, keeping the flow of work constant.

THE FLOWER
I was always so grateful for my home and its location next to a national forest, where I took walks almost daily amongst the trees. I had many favorite spots but always remained open to adventure. I always wondered what was around that tree, over the next hill, on the other side of a meadow … and so a short walk might turn into hours of exploring. Little did I know that my next walk would be another spiritual experience.
I got up, had breakfast, and did some work in my shop before taking my hike in the afternoon. While hiking, I noticed a rock poised on the side of the hill. I went to it, sitting on top and facing the west. I closed my eyes, feeling the sun on my face like a
