VEGETARIAN CHINESE COOKBOOK - Will Kim
INTRODUCTION
C
hinese food evolved from many regions of China and quickly gained popularity throughout the world for its distinctive cooking method and flavor. China has eight main culinary traditions. Grain and meat make up the majority of the two key ingredients in Chinese cuisine.
For any dish, vegetables, and starch are a need. Garlic, ginger, and sesame are the essential building blocks of the majority of Chinese recipes. Every cuisine uses soy sauce to add saltiness.
In China, vegetarian food is widely available and cost-free, but only a very small percentage of people follow veganism. Chinese cuisine is ideal for vegans because it emphasizes fresh vegetables, particularly in rural areas. Chinese cuisine's staples—noodles, rice, and herbs—are all ideal for vegans.
Food preparation has improved to the point where it is regarded in China as an art form. No matter their level of wealth, people in China consider wholesome meals to be a basic necessity.
According to a traditional Chinese saying, food is the citizens' primary necessity.
Chinese cuisine (Chinese dishes) originated in different parts of China and has gained popularity throughout the world. Local cultural differences within China's many regions are very diverse.
Given the importance of rice in Chinese cuisine, it was common for very formal gatherings to serve no rice at all; in these cases, rice would only be supplied if there were no other dishes or as a consolation meal in the form of sticky rice after dinner. As a side dish, soup is frequently consumed towards the conclusion of dinner.
Unlike other foods that are first split open and chefs directly grab parts from the salmon with equipment to ingest, fish is often fried and eaten in uncut form. This is so that seafood can be served as cleanly as possible. In China, eating a vegetarian diet is neither unusual nor unique. A similar predicament exists in the West, where a relatively small portion of the population still adheres to it. Contrary to popular belief, Chinese vegan diets do not involve a lot of oil in the cooking process.
