Healthy food for a happy gut

Trillions of bacteria, fungi and other microbes make up the gut microbiome, and scientists are continuing to discover how important this is to overall health. A healthy gut supports your immune system and may even improve your mental health. Poor gut health, on the other hand, is thought to increase the risk of diabetes and obesity.

The good news is that it’s easy to improve your gut microbiome with a diet rich in fibre and resistant starch, such as whole grains and beans, that take longer to break down. Try these recipes that nurture your gut health and are also full of flavour.
