Misguided Lessons - Shadow Parke
INTRO
This is supposed to be the place you come to when you want to challenge the status quo.
You want to do things a certain way and step back to question is this right with my soul.
Will this benefit others or is this something that I produced to justify my actions?
To make this make sense, I figured I would pull some old age written verses and match them to this moment.
We will touch on specific topics that deal with anger, judgement, relationships and marriage, real world ideas and remarkably simple common sense. Conflict resolution, belief in yourself, finances mixed with adultery. Anxiety and repentance along with discipline while banishing fear.
I chose the verses that may not be the most popular with secular society, but strong enough to intertwine them with the now in time.
Yes, we are grabbing some pretty solid words that many question as a whole, but that is where we want to tap into our common sense and moral logic for this. We have been taught and mentally beaten over the head with the Bible and ALL its verses. Depending on who you speak with, nothing else matters and most will call it far from the truth. I just want to see for myself how these random verses tie into my experience in life and how maybe it could parallel yours.
Numbers 11:1
And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord...
Whoa! In this particular chapter God speaks about complaining. Story goes in and God is not happy with what He is hearing from the people that he is providing the needs for. Sure, you can read the entire book for yourself, but this is just some of what we should not be doing. It mentions that people complained, and it made God angry, that he burned them up in a fire and the rest that were alive, stayed around repented, but still grumbled under their breath. Within chapter 11 there was even a point where Moses had to say, are you jealous for my sake?
I wish that all of the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his spirit onto them.
So you ask what does this have to do with you today right now in this moment in time, well you can think about everything you have ever complained about in your entire life, sure it may take up the whole day or maybe a few years, and maybe you had a specific reason why you had such a complaint to begin with, however we still were provided for. Sometimes I feel bad knowing that I’ve complained about things here and there, all of it being a First World Problem
and irrelevant to the greater scheme of life, but in all actuality - I am human, things do tend to happen, and you do tend to complain –however - if you can be mindful of what you’re complaining about that can put everything in perspective. Why do you feel like we need to complain when things do not go our way, why do you feel like everything should always work out
when in fact there are some moments where things need to pause or be delayed to not hurt you eventually. It does take some time to realize that everything cannot happen all at once. It also takes some time to know that when it finally does happen, you have been preparing for it along the way. We are here to serve and as much as most of us do not dream of labor,
we still are here to be of service to someone somewhere at some point in time, and if you are not happy with where you are in life you have the power to change it.
Do yourself a favor and recognize that you are just standing in your own way. God gives you the tools to change and not complain. You can be aware of things in your current presence that you do not like, however complaining about the options that were made available
