Don’t Let Your Light Go Out
It does get rough some days. Being honest right now with you and myself, I’d be a lying hypocrite if I didn’t first admit that. And I’m not talking about the ordinary tough times or inner instances of doubt. I’m speaking right now solely of those days that you’re just about overwhelmed by the things that have occupied your time and space. And it doesn’t matter whether the problems were thrust upon you or whether you’ve inherited these circumstances by choice. Because sadly enough, we’re discussing the things that should’ve went your way but, for whatever reason, they just didn’t. During those times of presumable darkness you go through, with no reason as to why, remember these six words if you can remember nothing else:
Don’t let your light go out.
When it gets rough, and it often will, through some or no fault of your own. Don’t forget exactly who you are. If you are a winner, enough said, suck this loss up and move on. And if you are currently a quitter, make the last time you quit, the last time that you will ever quit a thing again. This time, push through for the victory that awaits you just on the other side of struggle. But no matter how bad it gets, believe in yourself above all else, never letting the tough times encountered rob you of your you-ness. Go through what you must go through, of course, and learn just what it is you need to learn. But through all the trials and tribulations you face:
Don’t let your light go out.
Take living slow and don’t let difficulties make you stray from who you are. You were built to be durable. But that durability was forged from the inside out, not the outside in. Remember, you were created to have the wherewithal to stand against any mental assailant, without cracking under the pressure or weight of that day. Things will get tough sometimes, take it. Things won’t go your way on occasion, so what. You can find your way through any weather and any situation that you say you can. As long as you say you can and as long as you . . .
Don’t let your light go out!
Day 1
If you never think, How can I be the best I can be?
you will never be any better than you are.
Therefore, Your Majesty, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue." ~Daniel 4:27
We must push ourselves! To push yourself is to test your abilities, which results in evolution. When we win, we move on to newer challenges. When we fail, we are confronted with where we fall short, either in ability to plan or our ability to execute. So winning and losing both add up to benefit. That being said, we must push ourselves. If we don’t push, we don’t grow. Mental complacency breads physical death, because if you aren’t living, you’re dying! Nature does not stand still, it either is or isn’t! We must push ourselves to answer this question of whether we are being the best me that I can be,
on a regular basis. It is a question that acts as a benchmark for our progress. After all, all we seek in each of our lives is success. We seek but three types of success. Success in business is money, success in body is health, and success in relationship is love. Relationship doesn’t have to be with another, it can we understanding yourself as well. We all seek the same things, and pushing yourself to be better on a daily basis is the way that you will achieve the greatness that you seek in each of these respective areas. There is no better judge of you than yourself. Be honest with yourself and push to get past the mediocrity and be the best you that you can be. What you are now is perfect because it led you to this point. But at this moment, proceed. Surpass
