Hello, My name is Rebecca and I have worked in the hybrid Human Service/ Public Health realm for the past thirteen years.

I received her Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Community Health from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. I began my career conducting investigations related to child maltreatment.

Not long after, I transitioned my career to focus on preventative initiatives and spent four years leading a home visiting program in a leadership capacity.

It was during my time in the workforce that I felt there was something left unfinished in my Public Health career. I knew that I wasn’t interested in exploring a pursuit of doctoral education, but I reflected on discussions from my Master’s program and recalled the mention of the CPH examination.

After some research, I decided to take the CPH

exam almost three years after graduating my Master’s program as a method of putting a cap on my public health education.

I was not planning on spending an outrageous amount of money on any preparatory classes and my search for study guides (back in 2016) came up fruitless, so I was forced to self-study.

I passed the exam on the first try and obtained my certification in Public Health from the National Board of Public Health Examiners in June 2016.

Having successfully accomplished my goal to pass the exam, I decided to write this ebook sharing my experience, my study material and resources to demystify this exam and encourage others to pursue preparation without breaking their bank accounts.
