Sugar is Sweet. Life is Sweeter. - Cowboy Jack

    Introduction

    H

owdy there partner! If you've just received a diagnosis of pre-diabetes or diabetes and you're not taking it seriously, then you better listen up. This could be the biggest mistake of your life! In this book, I will show you that diabetes is so deadly that it can ruin your life, but with the right attitude and practices, it is also reversible and can be banished forever. In other words, it can kill you, unless you take it upon yourself to kill it first. And if you have successfully reversed diabetes, you know that it takes effort and dedication to keep it that way. I also discuss the steps needed to ensure that diabetes never makes a comeback in your life again.

I'll back up my arguments with modern research, experimentation, and real-life results. Now me, I’m not one for jargon and gobbledegook, so I’m going to try to keep it as simple as possible. I'll take you on a journey through pathways to health, backed up with stories, links, and resources that'll make you a believer. But make no mistake, if you don't take radical steps to Kill Diabetes, it will end up killing you first.

Diabetes is a serious disease that can lead to devastating health consequences if left unchecked. Even pre-diabetes can cause damage to your blood vessels, nerves, kidneys, and eyes, and that is only the start. Simply managing it won't cut it either. Small changes may not make a dent in your blood sugar levels, let alone reverse your diagnosis. You may need to make significant lifestyle changes like cutting out processed foods and sugar entirely, discover the benefits of fasting, getting more physical activity, and taking steps to reduce your medication regimen as you make progress. But the most important decision you will make is to take up the fight with all guns blazing.

And here's the hard truth: ignoring your diagnosis simply isn't an option. The consequences of uncontrolled diabetes are too severe to ignore. Full-on diabetes can lead to heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, nerve damage, amputations, blindness, and other serious complications. So don't make the mistake of thinking it's not a big deal. Talk to your healthcare provider, get the help you need, and make the lifestyle changes necessary to manage your condition. Because ignoring your diagnosis could be the biggest mistake of your life.

MAKE NO MISTAKE: DIABETES IS OUT TO KILL YOU

Listen up, folks, because I'm about to drop some scary knowledge on you. When you read about the potential complications I will describe next, I want you to be shocked. I want you to imagine yourself in the scenarios described and think of the impact they could have on you, your loved ones, and your friends and family. And I want you to be scared enough to make the decision to take the situation into your own hands. For, unless you do so, I am afraid there is no glimmer of hope. Don’t be lulled into a sense of complacency that pills or insulin injections will cure you of this scourge. Diabetes is a killer disease that's taking down millions of people worldwide. If you thought that hepatitis or AIDS or the rona were bad, just wait until you hear about the terrifying complications of diabetes. But it gets even worse. If you don't take diabetes seriously, it can lead to some downright terrifying complications. We are talking about nerve damage, kidney disease, and even blindness. Yeah, you read that right - blindness. If you sit back, follow the standard guidelines, and let your diabetes rage for a few years, you would not be able to read this very paragraph. And, worst of all, diabetes is slow, stealthy, and extremely persistent. It seduces you into thinking that all is okay and that you are managing it, but behind the scenes, it is busy wreaking major damage on your body. This is some serious stuff we're dealing with here. Now let’s meet the nefarious villains (or by-products) of diabetes one by one.

Heart disease is two to four times more likely to affect people with diabetes than those without. And why is that, you ask? High blood sugar levels can damage blood vessels and lead to a buildup of plaque in the arteries. Imagine feeling a crushing pain in your chest, radiating down your arm and up into your jaw. You struggle to breathe, and your heart is pounding so hard you can feel it in your ears. You know what's happening, even before the paramedics arrive - you're having a heart attack. Now imagine being a victim of heart disease, and how it would impact your life. You may find yourself unable to do even the simplest of tasks without feeling short of breath or experiencing chest pain. You may be forced to give up activities you once loved, like playing with your grandkids or going for a jog. And as the disease progresses, you may find yourself unable to work or enjoy the things you once did.

Diabetes can also increase your risk of stroke, because of the narrowing of blood vessels in the brain. Imagine waking up one day, unable to move the left side of your body. You try to speak, but your words come out jumbled and unintelligible. You're confused and scared, and you have no idea what's happening to you. Then it hits you - you've had a stroke. Now imagine being a stroke victim, and how it would impact your life. Your independence is gone, and you are forced to rely on others for even the most basic of needs. You can't walk without assistance, and you struggle with even the simplest of tasks like brushing your teeth or combing your hair. Your speech is slurred and difficult to understand, and you struggle to communicate with those around you.

Just like in the case of heart disease, the physical challenges of stroke are only the beginning. The emotional toll of being a stroke victim can be just as devastating. You may feel isolated and alone, as friends and family struggle to understand what you're going through. Depression and anxiety are common among stroke victims, as they struggle to come to terms with their new reality. And let’s not forget, the cost of medical care, rehabilitation, and ongoing treatment can be astronomical, leaving many stroke victims struggling to make ends meet. And if you're unable to work, you may find yourself relying on disability payments just to get by. So if you're thinking that a stroke is no big deal, think again. It's a life-changing event that can have devastating consequences in every aspect of your life. The physical, emotional, and financial toll can be overwhelming, and it's something that no one should ever have to experience. That's why it's so important to take care of your health and do everything in your power to prevent a stroke from happening in the first place. Trust me, the alternative is not something you want to face.

Then, let's talk about neuropathy - a fancy word for nerve damage. Diabetes can wreak havoc on your nerves, leading to numbness, tingling, and excruciating pain in your hands and feet. In severe cases, neuropathy can result in amputation - yep, you heard that right. Losing limbs. Can you even imagine waking up one day and realizing that one of your limbs is now gone forever. Your leg, your foot, or maybe even your hand. You're in pain, both physically and emotionally, as you struggle to come to terms with your new reality. You may never walk again, never run again, never feel the wind in your hair or the sand between your toes. And it's all due to diabetes. Maybe you already have had this happen to members of your family in the past, but yes, it could also happen to you.

Diabetes also weakens your immune system, making it harder for your body to fight off infections. This can lead to a host of health problems, including skin infections, yeast infections, and even pneumonia. And because diabetes can affect every part of your body, it can lead to a host of other complications, such as dental problems, hearing loss, and digestive issues.

And last but not the least, let's not forget about kidney disease, which affects up to 40% of people with diabetes. Kidney disease is a scary complication of diabetes that can sneak up on you. Your kidneys are supposed to filter out waste and excess fluids, but when diabetes damages them, they can't do their job as well. And that's when things start to get scary. Symptoms of kidney disease may not show up until it's too late. By then, your kidneys may be severely damaged. You may feel weak, tired, and notice swelling in your hands and feet. And once your kidneys start to fail, there's no going back. Dialysis and kidney transplants may be needed to keep you alive. And they're not easy or guaranteed to work. The cost of treatment and care can be through the roof, leaving you struggling to pay for it all.

So if you haven't already figured it out by now, diabetes is no joke. It is a sneaky, insidious killer that will creep up on you when you least expect it. It'll start off slowly, with just a few symptoms here and there. Maybe you're feeling more tired than usual, going to the bathroom a lot, or feeling thirsty all the time. But before you know it, diabetes will be twisting the knife in your gut, torturing you day in and day out.

See, diabetes doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care if you're young or old, rich or poor, healthy or sick. It'll come for you, and when it does, it'll bring a whole host of complications with it. As we have already discussed, it can damage your eyes, your kidneys, your nerves, and your heart. It can make it hard to walk, to see, to hear, and to breathe. And it won't just happen overnight. No, sir. Diabetes will torture you for years, and then decades, slowly but surely, until it turns that knife in and takes you down.

You might think you can handle it. Maybe you'll try to manage your diabetes with medication, through insulin injections, or by making small changes to your diet and exercise routine. But let me tell you, diabetes is a formidable opponent. It'll fight back, and it'll fight dirty. Before you know it, those small changes won't be enough, and you'll be in a world of hurt.

Now, I don't want to overwhelm you with all of this information that you give up without a fight, but I do want to make sure you understand just how serious this disease can be. Diabetes is not something to be taken lightly, and you must take action to manage your condition and prevent it from getting worse. Don’t dismiss it as if it were simply a condition of our times. It is a deadly disease that can have terrifying consequences if left untreated. Heart disease, stroke, neuropathy, kidney disease, and mental health issues are just the tip of the iceberg. It is time to start taking this disease seriously and taking steps to prevent or manage it. Because, trust me, the alternative is not something you want to mess with. That's why it's so important to take diabetes seriously. To do everything in your power to prevent it, and if you do have it, to fight back with all you've got. That's where the Low Carb, High Fat (LCHF) Low Spike Diet, combined with intermittent fasting, comes in. It's a powerful tool in the fight against diabetes, and it's been shown to not only manage but potentially reverse the effects of this chronic illness. If done properly, you will not only get rid of those high glucose and A1c numbers, but also say goodbye to your unhealthy lifestyle for good. You can take this approach and intensify it more, through the Keto diet, or the Carnivore diet, both of which are also very effective. But, like me, if you like some balance and variety in your dietary choices, you will find that the LCHF Low Spike diet will do wonders for you. I am going to describe these approaches in detail in the book.

So don't let diabetes win, partner. Take control of your health, and fight back with everything you've got. Because the alternative - a lifetime of torture and pain - is just not worth it. And if you are ready, I am going to show you how to fight the good fight.

WHY AM I WRITING THIS BOOK?

Well, partner, I reckon it is high time I let you in on what spurred me to write this book. You see, my family's got a long history with diabetes – it is a battle we've been fighting for generations. My dear Aunt Mabel had the sweetest tooth in the West, but it eventually caught up with her, and she passed away from diabetes-related complications.

Then there's my pa. He was diagnosed with diabetes in his fifties, and he did his darndest to follow the doctor's orders. They told him to eat a healthy diet that includes plenty of whole grains and fruits, but as it turns out, their advice was as useful as a screen door on a submarine. His diabetes kept getting worse, and the insulin injections got bigger. Despite his best efforts, my pa suffered for nearly twenty years before succumbing to kidney disease and other complications. Not just him, but his cousins, and several family friends also lost their battle to this dreaded disease.

It is a story that's all too familiar for countless families, in the US and around the world, and that's why I felt compelled to saddle up and write this book. I want to help folks steer clear of the same fate that's befallen my kith and kin. I'm on a mission to spread the word about the powerful combination of a low carb diet and intermittent fasting, so that others can take control of their health and ride off into the sunset with a smile on their face. Even if I am able to transform the life of one person through this book, I will consider it a great reward. I only wish I had this knowledge years ago to prevent so much needless suffering.

Now, I am not just talking about indirect experience here. Around six months ago, after a routine physical, I found out that I had an A1C of 5.8, which indicated I was pre-diabetic. After I came back from the doctor, I thought back to the experience of my pa, and his slow and silent suffering for over two decades, despite religiously
