About this ebook
Dear reader,
The world is full of diverse cultures and religions, each with its unique history and traditions. Yet, despite our differences, we all share a common thread that binds us together – the human experience. And it is this common thread that forms the basis of our story.
"Three Faiths, One Family: A Journey from Gujranwala to Indian Gujarat" is a novel that tells the heart-warming story of a young boy named Gurnam Singh, affectionately called Bittu, and his emotional journey through life. The novel is set against the backdrop of one of the most significant events in Indian history, the partition of India in 1947.
Bittu was just ten years old when the riots broke out, and he was separated from his parents. The feeling of being alone and scared in a world that had suddenly turned hostile left him feeling helpless and vulnerable.
However, he refused to give up and embarked on a treacherous journey that would take him through the dark alleys of Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan and eventually to Indian Gujarat. His journey was filled with hardships, but he kept moving forward with an unwavering determination and hope for a better future.
Despite the challenges, Bittu persevered, and with the help of a Sikh family in Surat, he was able to find a new home. His life had finally started to turn around, but fate had more in store for him. He faced more heart-wrenching challenges, including the attack on the Golden Temple, which left him barely alive.
And in 1984, when Indira Gandhi was assassinated, the riots that followed shook him to his core, leaving him struggling to hold onto his faith in humanity.
In his mid-50s, Bittu decided to travel to Pakistan to search for his real family. He discovered that his parents had been killed in the riots, but he also found his long-lost brother, Ahmad Hussain, who had converted to Islam.
The reunion was an emotional moment, bringing to light the bond of family that had been lost for so many years. It reminded Bittu of the beauty of life, the power of hope, and the importance of family.
"Three Faiths, One Family: A Journey from Gujranwala to Indian Gujarat" is a novel that explores the themes of love, family, faith, and resilience. It is a story that celebrates the human spirit and the strength that lies within us. It reminds us that no matter how tough life gets, we should never give up hope.
Thank you for embarking on this journey with us. We hope that this novel will touch your heart, inspire you, and leave you with a renewed appreciation for the power of love, hope, and family.
Warm regards,
T. Singh
