Dealing with brokenness

About this ebook
Brokenness: a condition when someone or something is damaged and unable to continue or work properly.
Old wounds are hard to heal because they have become a part of your everyday life. You didn't wake up in this condition of brokenness, and it wasn't an instantaneous act thrust upon you, but rather, it occurred through a process of unconscious decisions, acceptations, and actions. If you're going to deal with brokenness, you can't nurse symptoms by covering the wound. You must peel off all the coverings and expose the deep wound of the heart. We all suffer from self-inflicted wounds, but we all may never recover because we refuse to see the true source of the problem.
As you read this book, prepare to have God's Word faithfully reveal the source of your wounding, the bitterness of your brokenness, and the ultimate healing of your soul.

This book is dedicated to Kaye Thomas, my wife, a beautiful soul that proved to be great medicine for a wounded heart, a beautiful smile that illuminate a room’s gloomy darkness, a godly heart with strength to lift a beaten down warrior, a loving wife with such genuineness, it makes a man such as I thank God for such a jewel. Your old school dress code speaks of strength and honor as clothing, with a heart of love stretching out through the hands of compassion to the poor, scared knees from long prayers; strong willed built on determination to allow the Lord to finish the work he began fashioning in you the image of his Son. God's word has made an impression on your character, and I love your teachable spirit. I love your modest behavior of holiness, what older Christian women poured into you, you put on display teaching younger women to uphold Christian values in character. I love your selflessness, your willingness to give your complete self, strength, time, wisdom and ability, all to the building of the kingdom of God. I love what you are and becoming, from a wounded soul denounced from a dark room, to a woman of godly light, a beacon standing on the shores of God’s grace, shining across the seas of fallen humanity, directing souls to Christ.
Many women desire to be a minister/pastor’s wife, but are unwilling to release him to fulfill the capacity of his calling. I believe God has graced you with insight, a touch of grace, sprinkled with mercy and overflowing love. I watched your faith develop, be tested and withstand the rough of times; I watch you go through without a complaint, not able to work, battling sicknesses, the intruder's death, severe pain, and hatred and yet you manage a smile as you stood for God.
May the Lord God Almighty forever smile upon you, as you walk before Him sober-minded, quiet in spirit and faithful. May the God of peace touch your mind to withstand every trial, with the peace of God intertwining and woven into a peace of mind. May the thorn in your flesh forever keep you in humility before the altar of God, glorifying his name until he says, well done, my good and faithful servant!
Then shalt thou break the bottle in the sight of the men that go with thee
Jer.19:19
Foreword by Sis. Shaniece Powe
My contact with pastor Thomas and the family of Bethlehem began when I was a child, ignorant of self and not knowing who God is. Across the years, under pastor’s teaching, I was being introduced to God and developing constantly working and growing to reach the place I needed to be in my faith. When I gotten older, I had a dark moment in my life where I experience a disconnect from God and was completely broken. I was lost and had no idea what to do; I don’t read books often, but it was something about pastor’s first book that grasped my attention the title alone spoke volumes "Now, What Do I Do? It met me where I was, and made me realize to pursue answers I had to have a question, it jumped started me to get in my bible and then it inspired me to know what to do next. Of course, in my pursuit I learned the devil doesn’t turn loose easy laying stumbling blocks of discouragement in my path, but I found myself becoming sterner; pastor always taught us to
be steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, so quitting wasn’t an option for me. It was then pastor published his second book
Spiritual Drought followed by a third
Spiritual Suicide OH MAN, it was like God was speaking to me through him. From the books to pastor’s bible teaching, God was putting me in position to get my life back on track. It felt as if God was not giving up on me, what can I express about this new book
Broken? It brings you face to face with the real problem, shows you how to fix it, and leave you wanting to create a better relationship with God. Been or experiencing brokenness? Jesus said,
come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" [Matt.11:28]. From an ex-broken person, to those suffering brokenness: Read this book, I sure will!

Bethlehem Baptist Church
Foreword by Sis. Latoya Magee
You were handpicked by the Lord, Thomas. I never understood how broken I was until I seen someone that hurt me and I did not understand, why me? I questioned myself for years, as I dealt with this brokenness; just because I looked ok, giving this persona for the world to see but, inwardly I was an emotional wreck and was struggling to pull it together. I was looking for answers in all the wrong places, pastor’s first book was on point "Now, what do I do? Then one day, I walked into the church service and the voice I heard that day of the Rev. Louis Thomas preaching the Holy Gospel to a grieving family in need of hearing a word from the Lord and was not disappointed. Pastor’s second book
Spiritual Drought pinpointed/diagnose my condition, it made me look at reality and ask myself a question flavored with a committed answer, why not me? The Lord spoke to my heart that day through the message, and I aborted
Spiritual Suicide" pastor’s third book and since then, I haven’t been the same; as pastor prayed for me, gave me a hug and then gave me a revelation: that God has a work for me to do, it won’t be easy he said, just keep your eyes on the Lord for guidance. Still to this day, I have watched this man of God show me and my family the love of God; through his teaching and anointed gift from God to see a soul in need of a push and guidance, having the word of God made available for such a one as myself to be able to understand God’s word and being able to apply it to my daily walk with God. As the bible speaks of God’s anointed [Rom.10:15] "and how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" To read it is one thing, to see it embodied in a person is another, here is a moment of having your brokenness exposed to the person it matters the most, yourself. This book not only tells you how you’re broken but why, then it gives you revelation, expectation and recovery procedures to becoming your best self for God; I strongly recommend you read this book.
Love you always,

Foreword by Deacon Richard Reynolds
Years prior to meeting our author, my attention span was short, other speakers I sat under and listened to didn’t capture my attention span, it drifted off on other things. Some years ago, I heard a man name Rev. Louis Thomas speaking, his words grasped and held my attention from the beginning to the ending. From that day until now, I still remember some of the things he said, from our one-on-one conversations, and I’m assured reading the materials enclosed in this book, you will too. Reading this book, I believe will give you an insight about many problems that you may have experienced today. Try it, you may like it.
P. S. Once you start, you will want to read it to the end.
May God richly bless you and keep you safe.

God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.
