    Introduction

    WHAT IS THE INSTANT POT?

    An Instant Pot is a programmable electric pressure cooker. Imagine a futuristic version of the traditional pressure cooker, but more versatile, pleasant to use and safer. In addition to quick cook functions, it also offers functions such as slow cook, steam, make yogurt, rice or stir-fry. The Instant Pot cooks using pressurized heat and steam. The lid turns the inside of the pot into a completely insulated space, so that the increased pressure cooks food quickly and safely.

    THE GREAT

    It is quite safe: it includes many safety mechanisms to avoid any accident It is a multifunctional cooker that has 14 programs to cook all kinds of food It is very quiet, easy to clean and maintain, and it hardly emits odors or steam. You can program when to start cooking You can keep food warm in Keep Warm for up to 10 hours after the cooking program has finished. You can cook frozen food ... and many more

    THE BAD

    It requires its space, so find a place for it in your kitchen before buying it. Like every new thing, in the beginning you will have to consult the instructions often, but once you get the hang of it, everything will be much easier.

    WHAT CAN BE COOKED INSIDE AN INSTANT POT?

    Well, everything: rice, meat, fish, legumes, pasta, soups, vegetables, creams, eggs, cakes, etc. It is perfect for cooking in quantities, since it allows tremendous ease when cooking for more people.

    RELEASE OF PRESSURE AND OPENING OF THE LID

    Once it's done cooking, your Instant Pot will automatically go into Keep Warm mode. To open the lid, it is essential to release the pressure. As long as there is pressure in the cooker, the lid will be locked. Do not try to open it without releasing the pressure in one of these 2 ways:

    NATURAL RELEASE: It is when we leave the pot untouched, it will lose its temperature naturally. This can take between 5 and 20 minutes after the end of the program.

    QUICK RELEASE: Turn the Sealing regulator lever to the Venting position. Always be careful, protecting your hand with a kitchen towel or an oven mitt because the steam burns. The steam will come out quickly and intensely and for 2 minutes

    IMPORTANT! In this book you will find recipes that specify that you do a natural release, ie that the pressure of the cooker decreases naturally, before you touch and open the lid.

    French Toast with Mango and Walnuts

    6 servings | Total preparation time: 35 minutes

    ingredients

    1 ½ tsp cinnamon

    ¼ tsp vanilla extract

    6 pcs cubed bread

    4 sliced mangoes

    2 tbsp brown sugar

    1 tbsp white sugar

    ½ cup milk

    ¼ cup chopped walnuts

    3 eggs

    ¼ cup cream cheese, softened

    2 tablespoons cold butter, sliced

    ELABORATION

    Grease a baking dish with butter and distribute half of the bread. Arrange half of the mangoes and sprinkle half of the brown sugar. Spread the cream cheese on top and cover with the rest of the bread and mangoes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and walnuts. Cover with butter.

    In a bowl, beat the eggs with sugar, milk, cinnamon and vanilla. Pour the mixture into the mold. Place the trivet inside your Instant Pot and deposit a cup of water. Place the mold inside the trivet. Cook on Manual for 30 minutes on High. Perform a manual pressure release.

    Mini Carrot Cakes with Walnuts

    8 servings | Total Preparation Time: 20 minutes

    ingredients

    ¼ cup coconut oil

    ½ cup milk

    ½ cup pecans

    1 tsp apple pie spice

    1 cup grated carrot

    3 eggs

    ½ cup applesauce

    1 cup ground hazelnuts

    ELABORATION

    Deposit 1 cup of water in your IP and place the trivet. In a bowl, mix the coconut oil, milk, eggs, applesauce, hazelnuts and the spices. Use a mixer and mix until fluffy.

    Add carrot and walnuts. Fill the muffin cups with the mixture and place them on the trivet. Seal the lid. Cook on Manual on High for 15 minutes. When ready, perform a manual pressure release. Remove the muffins, let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

    Maple-Vanilla Porridge

    6 servings | Total Preparation Time: 25 minutes

    ingredients

    1 cup oats

    2 cups milk

    2-3 vanilla pods

    2 tbsp ground flaxseed

    Salt and black pepper to taste

    2 tsp cinnamon

    2 tbsp maple syrup

    ELABORATION

    Grease the IP with oil. Add milk, 2 cups of water and oats. Remove the inside of the vanilla pods and place it inside the pot. Add salt, syrup, cinnamon and flaxseed. Seal the lid. Cook on Manual for 3 minutes on High. Perform a quick release. Stir and distribute on plates.

    Egg Burger with Crispy Pancetta

    4 servings | Total Preparation Time: 25 minutes

    Egg Casserole with Sausage

    1 tbsp coconut oil

    6 eggs

    ¾ cup sliced leek

    Salt and black pepper to taste

    1 cup chopped kale

    1 red potato, grated

    1 tsp minced garlic

    ELABORATION

    Mix the sausages and potato. Deposit a cup of water in the IP and place a grid. Accommodate the mold on the rack. Cook on Manual for 25 minutes on High. Perform a manual pressure release. Garnish with chopped parsley.

    Porridge with Mushrooms and Garlic
