So, today’s meeting is going to be very brief since there was no prior notice. Mr. Harrison Scout has been made partner and Deputy Managing Director of this firm. Miss. Audrey Stuck has been promoted to Second Deputy Managing Director and both of them …… Frank Steele said and kept rattling on.

In other words, you are a woman and looks easy to walk all over therefore we cannot make you partner however we really know how vital you are to this firm so work directly under the asshole and let him take all the credit.

Why is everybody looking at me, did I say something out loud or I didn’t clap when I was supposed to. Audrey thought to herself.

Miss Stuck, do you have something to say. Mr. Steele asked

Thirty minutes was enough time to write my resignation letter and my passwords and pack all my things in a box ready to leave. Damn ten years of my life here ,the sleepless night the early morning wakeup call and how far I have brought a company with one branch to five branches with over a one thousand clients I don’t mean to brag but it is all me. My hard work, my intellectual, my skills and it took me 30 minutes to pack everything.

I knocked and entered Frank’s office he was an elderly man with a bald head, thick short neck and lot a flesh around his middle he also had. Behind his hideous desk he looks shorter than his usual height

Audrey you are my friend, my daughter he said and started pacing. You were here when this firm was nothing, you made it something. I wish I could make you partner instead of Harrison but the Board said

Frank, it’s ok, we all know what you are going to say and those are things I cannot change about myself even if I try. You are the Board, this is your company what you say is law the board or whatever is there for show you and I know that, hell everybody knows that.

I wanted to personally give you your promotion letter. He said, then placed it in front of me. You will be paid the same salary as him and your allowances are higher than his.

Then I got up, I also wanted to personally give this to you. With all our years of friendship I wanted you to be the first to know, then I handed my resignation letter to him

Back in my office I double checked to make sure that the box holding all my stuff will not disgrace me on my glorious exit from fuckers and assholes corporation not that that’s the name of the company where I have spent ten years but I don’t care what their name is anymore.

Well, I said there is a new candidate for the deputy operations manager. Ethan answered.

We have discussed this and we both agreed that Addison is the best candidate for this job, Stella who finds it difficult to work with anybody has agreed that we make her, her deputy even yesterday we were on the same page so what happened.

First I had an email, then I made a call and did some investigations, mind you that was why I was late for work today, and I came to a conclusion that, there is someone better for this job.

And who could this person be?

I don’t know whether to tell you her name because obviously you don’t know her and……

She is the deputy managing director of xxtra corporations. Well, was, she has quit her job. She is more than qualified. You know the reason I’m HR is because I know people I know talent and she is talent personified.

My first day at work in Hunter Enterprises Holdings Inc. I never thought I will feel this way again the nervousness and uneasiness on your first day all thanks to Harrison asshole, waking up early and getting to work at 7:36 all thanks to Harrison asshole and an opportunity to work in my dream company hell I guess I have to thank him for that as well, however I will take some credit, maybe my luck is not so messed up after all.

I better walk in and stop standing at the entrance

The security, a bulky man with shaved head stops me at the entrance. Am sorry but the office is not open to the public until 8 o’clock.

Oh am sorry. I am an employee here then I took out my employee ID I got attached to my appointment letter and showed it to him.

He sniffed the air and looked at me oddly for some time before proceeding to make a call to confirm my claim. He then ushered me through the staff only entrance and asked another staff to take me to the twentieth floor.

Joe as a later learnt was his name also took a sniff and looked at me oddly then the security man just shrugged and he asked me to follow him. The guy smiled, his turquoise-blue eyes twinkling. He was a person of long wiry muscles, and trim shoulders and hips. I followed him through the expansive pristine reception area. He said hi to the receptionist who sat behind a massive desk tack in a corner but strategically placed to see whoever enter the building and which direction the person went. She barely raised her head to acknowledge him. There were a few people seated or loitering around. We headed to a set of elevators and entered one to the twentieth floor.

Weird, I know I don’t like washing my hair but today is my first day at work so I really did take my time to wash my hair which brought me to the question I asked

Do I smell?

Of course not, well not in a bad way, you smell like lemon and citrus and sunshine and beautiful Joe my soon to be friend answered.

We were in the elevator heading for the twentieth floor when I started thinking about all that has happened within these past few days. Quit my job, spent the next day tracking and ensuring that my mail get to the right person HEHI, followed by a series of phone calls and meetings with Ethan Runner, then the interview and here I am employed again in less than two weeks. My smile was infectious

Luckily enough Ethan a mammoth of a man with sleek black hair and a beard to match was there waiting for me when the elevator door opened. This floor was made up of a long corridor and lots of doors. Some of the rooms were made up of large glass windows which allows you to see the staff in their cubicles whiles others were not.

Good, I answered I could barely reached his shoulder even in my heels.

Ok let’s get you introduced and settled in for your work

We walk a few distance on the corridor then Ethan opened a door which opens to a cute office. It has a fantastic view of the city behind me. A nice glass desk with the usual office stationery on it.

This will be your office when you want some time alone. But here the operation team mostly works together trying to come up with new ideas in the common room the first door we passed. I wanted you to meet Stella your boss first before everyone but it seems she is in the common room. So Ethan clap his hand and rub them together are you ready to meet everybody?

Must as well get it over and done with I answered

We entered the common room and about twenty set of eyes turned to look at us. Then they sniffed the air exchange looks and turned as if nothing has happened. Seriously I really have to tone down of using lemon products, can’t help it, love the smell.

Ok everybody this is Audrey Maria Stuck our new deputy ops manager, as you can obviously tell she is not one of us so give her the due respect. Ethan said

You are late, a middle aged woman with curves in all the right places and eyes like a viper said. She is taller than my 5’7 with long black hair and a heart shaped face.

Audrey this is Stella. Ethan introduced

Hi nice to meet you. Audrey said and stretched her hand for a shake

She looked at the hand with her viper eyes and repeated you are late

I withdrew my hand back awkwardly. She thinks she has an attitude then she hasn’t met me yet.

Its 7:45 a.m I am not late. Work start at 8:00 I said already getting pissed

Well my staff comes to work at 7:00 a.m to ensure that everything is set before we open to the public.

Well that’s stupid. Why should I come to work at 7:00 and spend an hour doing something that I can use 15 minutes to do?

The whole
