Reset Restored Reborn: How God Can Make You Whole Again After Adversity
()
About this ebook
Where there is Jesus, there is provision. This is the number one thought you should have as you get into this book about restoring yourself from physical and mental brokenness. It's a crucial initiative, because the process will not be easy for most people, but involving Jesus in the equation always makes things work. Let me open by taking you to the Bible story about the wedding at Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle (John 2:1-12). Guests at the wedding drank all the wine and there was nothing left to drink. Jesus' mother went to him and said they had run out of wine. Jesus responded by instructing the servants what to do and eventually turned water into wine. Isn't it interesting that His first miracle involved providing people with what they needed at the time? Was it not a bold reminder that he will always be there to provide if someone asks him to?

Introduction
Understanding Restoration
W
here there is Jesus, there is provision. This is the number one thought you should have as you get into this book about restoring yourself from physical and mental brokenness. It’s a crucial initiative, because the process will not be easy for most people, but involving Jesus in the equation always makes things work. Let me open by taking you to the Bible story about the wedding at Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle (John 2:1-12). Guests at the wedding drank all the wine and there was nothing left to drink. Jesus’ mother went to him and said they had run out of wine. Jesus responded by instructing the servants what to do and eventually turned water into wine. Isn’t it interesting that His first miracle involved providing people with what they needed at the time? Was it not a bold reminder that he will always be there to provide if someone asks him to?
I am of the view that this first miracle was not a coincidence. It was a bold message that when Jesus is invited into the picture, there will always be provision.
Therefore, as you peruse the pages of this book, remember to make him a part of your life. If you are not yet a Christian and want to know how to embark on this journey of fulfilment, read John 1:12 and see what qualifies you to become a part of this family. It is not exclusive, because everyone can become a part of it and begin to freely enjoy heavenly blessings.
Nevertheless, a journey to restore your soul, mind, body, and life is not easy, nor is it one-sided; prayer will not always produce instant results. But there are steps you should take that have nothing to do with your spiritual side. The faith you have in God will help you fight with confidence, but you need to remain bold, strong, and courageous, while refusing to give into fear, because the presence of God will enable you to be an overcomer.
In this book, I will help you understand your role, whilst aiding you in connecting with God during your journey to restoration. You will also find common moments of pain that we go through in life, leaving us feeling broken and requiring restoration. This will help you understand why you could have been going through emotional trauma or confusion and spent some time not knowing what to do with your life, even if you had gone to school or started a business you thought was going to bring you success. Sometimes, we are slaves to these emotional traumas that we suffered in the past, forgetting that they remain a part of us even when we think we have reached a breakthrough – at least as measured by our human standards. You need healing from that brokenness so that you can fully move on.
Some of us also fail to move on or apply lessons – such as the ones you will learn about in this book – because we are afraid of what people may think or say about us once they know we have a problem. However, the truth is you can’t control what people think and say about you, but you can control how you react to their own thoughts and words. When you make mistakes, there will be consequences, which people will see and react to in whatever way they want. Some will laugh at you; some will support you. But being human means that we are more likely to listen to negativity than positivity, no matter how big the latter is. So you should always be on guard against listening to naysayers, rather than the few people who will encourage you to keep walking the good walk to your own freedom from brokenness. Remember that God has the final say about what happens in your life, not the people who talk badly about you (John 16:33).
Restoration is About Letting Go of the Past and Embracing the New.
Are you ready to be restored? If so, you should be ready to forget about the past and start walking ahead with your eyes on the prize. In the Bible, we learn about baptism. It symbolises dying from past transgressions to a new, restored life (Titus 3:5). Therefore, to cross over to where there is a good life, you ought to die to the past ‘you’ that is full of complaining and self-disbelief.
Reset, Restored, Reborn is a book that I have written to show you that there is no amount of spiritual, physical, or mental brokenness that you cannot heal. I have created it to reveal that life should be valued and protected from all threats. I created it understanding that the biggest threat to all life is the reluctance to fight back whenever life throws stones and thorns in our paths. In the end, many of us get heartbroken and surrender our lives to fate. Not anymore.
While writing, my confidence grew from knowing that we have God on our side, and if He is with us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31). I cannot think of any situation that is bigger than God. He is here to defend us against all pain and suffering - all we have to do is know it and act on His Word.
This book reveals various ways you can (through God's power) overcome life's challenges. It will tell you about common hardships we face because of
