Preface
Giving honor, praise, and thanks to God and to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ who put it in my heart to write this book.
I pray that this book will bring blessings, encouragement, strength, and a closer relationship to God for people all over the world in innumerable ways. I pray that through this book, God will teach people how to be successful, prosperous, flourishing, strong, vigorous, profitable, lucrative, expanding, booming, burgeoning, and much, much more…
For God said in His holy Word, Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth
(3 John 1:2, KJV).
I dedicate this book to my wife, immediate family, and my church family. I also honor my brothers and sisters in the Lord across the world who have faithfully and lovingly served God and have encouraged me and given me support in so many ways.
I also dedicate this book to Dr. Varnie N. Fullwood Sr., PhD who is the founder and president of North Carolina Theological Seminary. A man with a great vision and will help those who are interested in God’s work. When I went in to talk to him, I felt good; when I left him, I felt great. He has really been an inspiration to me.
I honor all seminary and Christian college professors, teachers, and mentors across the land.
By the help of God, may this book be a blessing to all people everywhere.
I love you all!
Introduction
Ihad to learn things the hard way. In 2017, after preaching for twenty-nine years, the Lord put it in my spirit and in my heart to write a book. I was so excited and eager that I couldn’t hardly wait to get started writing this book, but there was one big problem that I had: I didn’t have the slightest idea about what was all involved in writing a book, so I had a long talk with God.
I said, "God, you said in your holy Word in Proverbs 3:5–6 that if I would…‘trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.’ Well, here I am, Lord, and I don’t have the first clue on how to even get started writing this book, but one thing I do know, and that is…great things happen when you do what God tells you to do! So, God, I’m not worried anymore, and I thank you ahead of time for leading, guiding, and directing me what to do."
Not many days after, the Lord led me to Dr. Varnie N. Fullwood Sr., PhD who is the founder and president of North Carolina Theological Seminary, and he is a master in writing books. A man with a great vision and will help those who are interested in God’s work. When I went in to talk to him, I felt good; when I left him, I felt great.
Something happens when you do what God tells you to do. Great things happen when you obey God.
In the book of Revelation 1:11 (KJV), God told John saying,
I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, what thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
God wants us to communicate His Word to others, and writing a book is a great way of doing that.
In Jeremiah 30:2 (KJV), the Lord God of Israel said, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.
The precious Word of God has transformed my life from the inside out, and I truly believe it will do the same for you if you do what God tells you to do. Whatever you are going through right now, when you do all that He tells you to do and don’t shortcut, watch God teach you how to be successful, prosperous, flourishing, strong, vigorous, profitable, lucrative, expanding, booming, burgeoning, and much, much more…the bible says, that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.
What a mighty God we serve. All we got to do is just ask Him, and do what He tells us to do, and He will do the rest.
He tells us to ask anything in His name, and He will do it if we ask in faith and not doubt. James picked it up and said in James 1:4–8, "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."
When James said let patience have her perfect work that ye may be perfect and entire wanting nothing; in other words, don’t get tired, frustrated, and discouraged when things don’t happen as quick or when you were expecting or think they should; just wait on the Lord, and be of good courage because it’s on the way. God said to upbraideth not and it shall be given you. God cannot and will not lie. God has His own timetable for doing things. (One thing I am sure about: He is never too early, and He is never too late. He is always right on time and will give you exactly what you need.) If He gives it to you too soon, you might not know how to handle it or be ready for it.
When I was a young boy, I wanted a car, and I got one at the age of sixteen. When I got it, I abused it because I was not old and mature enough to realize that I must take care of it instead of spinning my tires on the pavement and speeding up and down the dangerous highway ripping, snatching, and messing it up. Remember, I learned things the hard way, and this is a lesson that I can share with others to help them.
It is very important that we understand that if we are to receive all that God has promised us in His Word, we must first obey and be a doer of His Word.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But who so looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (James 1:22–25)
Great things happen when you obey God’s Word; just remember, it shall come to pass if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God. So get ready for your miracle; get ready for your breakthrough because it’s on the way.
Let’s see what happened when Joshua did what God told him to do, when he obeyed God’s Word.
Now after the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord [after Moses had died], it came to pass that the Lord spake [spoke] unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, "Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise; go over this Jordan, thou and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel [God instructed Joshua what to do]. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you as I said unto Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your coast. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the
