About this ebook

This book will help you claim the promises that the Lord has for you, because he wants what is best for you. This book is designed to encourage you while you go through dark difficult days, the shedding of tears as you question why God sees your distress, and does not answer. You watch as your life falls apart, and you wonder why God does not come to your rescue. Where are the promises the Lord made when he said he will be with you in the lion's den, in the fiery furnace, as you go through your valley of despair, pain and sorrow. Where are the promises of him supplying all your needs, to cast all your cares on him? The agonizing moments you spend trying to anchor your faith, and trusting in the Lord.
Jesus said in this world you are going to go through trials and hardship. He says do not be afraid of what man will do, because he will fight your battles for you. He said you are to take up your cross daily and follow him. What do you do when you feel helpless, and alone? Who do you turn to when your soul is in despair, when you feel the burdens pressing against you, and you feel boxed in, fenced in, who do you turn to for help? Where are the promises of the Lord?

The bible tells you not become anxious about anything, but to pray and ask the Lord for help, but what happens when that help seem so far away? You have many questions, and very few answers, while the Lord tells you to wait and be of good courage. Your needs are immediate, yet the Lord tells you to wait. Every door you try to walk through you find that it gets slammed in your face. Where are the windows of heaven the Lord promises to open for you, when he tells you to test him, prove him and try him? This book will help you and hopefully help to strengthen your faith, as you hope in the Lord.

At the back of the book you will find scriptures that will help you each day. In seasons of distress and grief, will your soul find relief in the promises of God's words? This book can be of help to you to show you that God is still the best one to turn to in times of need and hardship.

Verna E. MacKay

Verna was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica in the West Indies. She spent most of the years of her life in her adopted country, the United States of America. One of Verna’s favorite books to read is the bible. She believes Jesus is coming back soon, and wants to see as many people as possible accept the gift of salvation, Jesus Christ the Savior of the world, turn from their sins, and follow the Lord. Verna would like to tear Satan’s kingdom down, several souls at a time, while building up the kingdom of God. She prays that the books the Lord has given her to write will help you, and point you to the true treasure, the fountain of youth, the Lamb of God, whose blood can wash you whiter than snow.

    God's Promises - Verna E. MacKay

    INTRODUCTION

This book is designed to reach a world dying in their sins, not realizing that time is running out, and earth as you know it will end soon. At the back of the book you will find scriptures that will help you each day. This book can be of help to you to show you that God is still the best one to turn to in times of need and hardship.

God has made many promises to you in his book the Holy Bible. There are words of encouragement to help you when you feel down and out. Praise the Lord at all times, even when things are not going well, and you are distressed. Sing songs of praise, let your voice ring out, give glory and honor to the Lord Most High.

Reach out by faith, and claim the promises of God for your life. These promises made by the Lord found in the Holy Bible to others thousands of years ago, are available you, a child of the King. The Lord wants to bless you, and you are to pass some of those blessing unto others. You are not to hold on to them. Blessings are not just in physical things, but in other things such as good health, children who love the Lord and have dedicated their lives to the Lord to be of service to him, a good spouse, a good job, being able to pay your bills and other benefits.

You are stewards of what the Lord has given you, the things that you have do not belong to you, and all belong to the Lord. Once you acknowledge that you own absolutely nothing in this world, you will freely give to those who are in need. The Lord has called you to be light in a dark world, to shine in the darkness around you.

    Chapter 1

    You Are Not Alone

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13: 6 – 8.

Do you feel alone because of the things that are happening in your life? Jesus promises that no matter what you are going through, you are not alone. He promises that he will always be there for you. Do you believe that promise? Sometimes it may seem that you have been abandoned by the Lord, as others turn away from you.

Jesus is still the one who remains constant, he does not change, he cannot change, and he will never change. Man may say one thing today, and the next day, will say something else; with the Lord it is not so. He can be trusted. It is great to know that you have a God who loves you very much.

Even though things in your life are falling apart, remember that you have a God who is always there to comfort you, who will never walk out on you. Claim his promises, pray, seek the Lord for answers. Do not give up hope, keep holding on. Remember that this place is not your home; you are on a journey to your heavenly home. One day the skies will give way, and you will see Jesus and the holy angels, coming to get you, to carry you to your real home in heaven.

    Chapter 2:

    Encourage Yourself In The Lord

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 6:30.

David and his men were in the camp of the Philistines and when they returned to their campgrounds, all their family members and their
