Preface
John 10:2-5 The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize stranger's voice.
The above words are Jesus'. He knows us too well to understand, how desperately we really need a voice to direct us. It should be our heart desire to hear and be led by his one and only true voice for he is our shepherd, who keeps uscunder his care in the pen. Hence God created man and sent him to occupy the earth and gave him dominion over his very own flesh and all the other creation. This great God never disposed man on earth. His spirit is always with man, watching over, guiding, and directing him with the voice. If one purposes to see him for the loving father he really is, he will realize that God is ever conscious of the principle that a relationship without communication is at the verge of a break up.
Hence the palmist says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." 119:105
Therefore, if you need not to stumble on this journey of/ to righteousness, you need the voice of the good shepherd. This voice is not found in gardening, cooking or education in as much as all of this is vital. The voice is found in his word. Either written or spoken.
Whenever one is pressed with a need, decision to make or any challenge, he desires to hear God's voice speak Child this is the way forward.
The need to hear God's voice has caused most believers to either grow or give up faith for they feel too dispensable when they do not hear the voice. Yet God may have spoken a month, a year or even a week prior to the need only that, many of the times we are too busy with 'my' and fail to hear his voice. My: life, ministry, church, family, business, career, education, name them. These 'my's may be so loud in our lives such that the only voice we hear is theirs and not God's. I mean how many times do these 'my' occupy us as we like to say and left us no time to hearken to his Voice?
Whatever it is that keeps you so busy, it should never master you; it should not take God's time from you. Sometimes the voice we desperately need could be in a verse that we ought to read that time. This God that we desperately want to hear from we don't seek him enough.
Brethren, let’s be spiritually awake and alert in order to hear from God. For we all need God's voice in order to achieve our purpose as per his plans.
