FOREWORD
Every generation of Christians needs a wake-up call to remind us of how serious and strenuous the use of words is. Say It Ain’t So!: Power in the Word is a clarion call to sundry people to demonstrate the potency within communication by speaking forth the infallible word of God over our life situations. It is an invitation to become ambassadors and agents of the art of winning; all our words came into being as believers because of the power of the word of God.
One of the few statements within the chapters of the book that the Holy Spirit brought before me was this: Words do what you tell them to do.
This great masterpiece is really awareness from the throne room of heaven through the great servant of God on how we can rule our world by the spoken word backed by our faith in God. I recommend this classic book to every Christian to read and take it seriously, and the world will be a better place for them.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I want to thank the Lord for working through me to accomplish this fine piece of work. Without Him, this would not have been possible. He supernaturally minimized all distractions from my life to allow my thoughts to flow freely and to let me complete this book.
I especially acknowledge my wonderful children, whom I cherish with all my heart. They load me with inspiration to move onward and upward in Him every day.
Finally, there are many people who have played behind-the-scenes roles in this work by doing what they do to complement my life. So many great Bible preachers and teachers encouraged me without our ever meeting in person. Thank you for being obedient to your call to God and serving His people.
INTRODUCTION
One of the biggest manipulative tricks Satan uses against man is to make us distrust and discredit the word of God. The first example of this takes place in the garden of Eden. God gave Adam and Eve specific orders to follow. One of the orders was to not eat from the tree in the middle of the garden. Adam and Eve defied due to Satan’s craftiness and manipulation. Eve knew God’s order: But from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said,
You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die. The serpent said to the woman, ‘You surely will not die!" Genesis 3:3–4. God’s word was disobeyed, and the rest is history. Satan recognizes the power behind the word, and so should you.
Numbers 23:19 states, God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
In essence, God backs up every bit of his written and spoken word. The word of the Lord has power all by itself. I hope to convey to you that the word does not require any dressing up. Simply put, one needs to believe, obey, and speak it. There is nothing magical about it, yet there is great substance behind every word. In fact, these words have been tried and proven throughout history and is relevant in present-day society.
Faith is required to believe and reap the benefits of the word of God. Words are empty and lifeless without faith. Faith speaking breathe life into your words like air in your lungs or a summer breeze in the trees. Have you ever heard the phrase Be careful what you say, for it just may come true?
Indeed, there is some truth to that statement. Speaking words is to release wind, breath, and a change in the atmosphere. What are your conversations about? What words are you giving life to? Are they positive words of affirmation—words to build up? Or are they perhaps words to tear down? It is imperative to understand that the word of God is not reduced to paper and ink. The word of God came before paper and ink. If you are hoping to hear from God, benefit from his word, and be led by the Holy Spirit, try studying, believing, and applying the word. As John 6:63 proclaims, The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you they are full of the Spirit and life.
As Christians, it is imperative that we carefully choose our words. A word is simply a word until you give it a directive. Have you ever thought about the effect of your words? Jesus most certainly knew the impact of his words when he taught his disciples. If the words that Jesus spoke were full of spirit and life, we should follow suit. Partaking in the word of God daily is a sustaining power, and by this instruction, we are kept on the righteous path. In other words, do what is instructed through the word, and you cannot go wrong. It may get rough, but winners never quit, and quitters never win. Don’t turn back because your path seems hard. In fact, the harder it becomes, the more you should seek the Word. In John 6:60, after hearing much teaching, some disciples deserted Jesus and asked, This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?
Will you be like the unbelievers who gave up before seeing the mighty works of the Lord come to fruition?
TURNING GLOOM INTO SUNSHINE
But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
—Deuteronomy 30:14
To be human is to be faced with various issues that may seem impossible to handle. Nevertheless, just say, Say it ain’t so.
One Saturday afternoon, my son and I were driving to a Bible bookstore, and I was admittedly feeling a little disgusted and discouraged. During that trip, I clearly heard the words "Say it ain’t
