Rose Symbol
When I thought of writing this book the idea of a long stem red rose, with thorns, came to mind. The image of God handing a person one rose in full bloom as a covenant symbol immediately filled my mind. The covenant in this vision, this thought, image that I had recognized an agreement between God and human that human would serve as God’s warrior like an assistant on the earth to bring things to pass.
Roses are tantamount to precious jewels. Long stem red roses are often given as a gift to someone well thought of. Usually that someone is a loved one, a girlfriend, or a wife. Red roses are given for special occasions like birthdays, wedding anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, and Mother’s Day. They are sometimes referred to as red beauties. Normally, a bouquet of roses is given to impress the receiver about how much they are cared about. The roses are meant to say, I love you dearly and you are special to me. They convey loyalty. Red roses are not just given to anyone, they are frequently given only to a certain special someone. This factor is important to remember, and so, bears repeating. Someone who represents a committed relationship or a covenant tie perhaps through marriage will often be given a precious rose.
In my vision, God gave a single rose to a person. It wasn’t clear if the person was male or female. I mainly saw an image of hands taking the rose. It’s interesting the vision showed a single rose. In life we’re most impressed by the presentation of a dozen red roses. Sometimes, florist carefully lay roses in a box. Small vials of water are attached to the ends of the stems to keep the roses fresh for delivery. Newly cut stems have a life to them as though they just came from a garden. Boxes maybe gold colored or white and are often closed shut with a red ribbon topped by a huge bow. Other times roses are in water to keep them fresh in a glass vase that will often have a ribbon tied around it. Red roses receive oooo’s and ahhhh’s. If there is an audience whether large or tiny that audience will applaud the gift in some way.
At my bank, there were two huge bouquets of roses in large vases. One vase of roses sat on a banker’s desk and another on the other banker’s desk. One had roses that seemed to be outsized, bigger than the other. Both women were happy. I’ve been happy when I received roses. They are a very special gift.
Single roses are often given as gifts on the same occasions already listed. Sometimes a vendor will come into a restaurant with single long stem roses for sell to patrons. A lady smiles, broadly, as she’s given a rose. During special holidays, street vendors also set up on the corners of busy city intersections to sell bouquets to drivers and foot traffic. Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day are big days for those sales.
The giver is often pleased to give the gift of roses. The giver has done something wonderful for another person, someone cared for.
There are other occasions when red roses are given. Roses are often given at
