    Winter

IT WAS THE DAY BEFORE yesterday when I began to feel sick.  I did take my usual oregano oil capsules several times that day and the next and more today.  Never had I needed to take so many of the orange capsules to get relief from a clogged throat.  Lemon and water, my tried and true fails me, too.

I run Steamroller Corp. day to day.  This day I can neither run it nor sit comfortably and watch others handle it in peace.  I am so out of sorts wandering about this room as if I couldn’t possibly know which end is up.  These walls I know so well.  Paulette and Robinson, my dearly beloved parents, shared this room for forty-five years.

Father was the firm one.  He never asked, he commanded.  Politeness with employees will surely be taken as weakness, was his credo.  Next thing you know they’ll run you out of your own office, he cautioned me.

I saw how both sides if brought together just perfectly would win any goal and overcome any trial.

Stay  with it, don’t quit they will fold, said father watching his takeover targets resist.  He would wait them out.  Of course, it helped, he secretly
