I stood at the bottom of the stairs, peering up. ‘Do you want cream in your hot chocolate?’ I called up.
‘Yes please Mummy!’ my little girl Miley, six, shouted back.
I squirted cream onto the steaming hot mugs of cocoa and carried them upstairs, where Miley and I were having a chilled Friday night watching films in bed.
It was so lovely to sit back and relax after a long week of being a full-time mum.
It was November 2018 in Edinburgh, so snuggling under a blanket was bliss.
My partner at the time, John*, 41, was fast asleep in front of the TV downstairs.
