What flesh hell?

Reaching for my phone, I snapped a picture of my latest ailment and sent it straight to Mum.

A tiny sore piece of itchy, dry skin on my hand.

Have you got your cream? My mum Christine, then 51, typed back.

It was September 2022 and, aged 23, I was used to eczema flare-ups.

I’d had the itchy skin condition since I was a baby.

That weekend, I was staying at my boyfriend Jamie’s house, but I stocked up on cream at the pharmacy.

‘I hope it doesn’t spread,’ I told Jamie, 32.

Working as a property manager, I was in the process of changing jobs.

Had interviews lined up.
