Chapter 1
Charles Sheff
Young billionaire Charles Sheff has virtually everything that he could ever want or ask for. He owned a beautiful mansion, as many vehicles as anyone could imagine. He lived the luxurious lifestyle and had the looks to accommodate. He would go out golfing with colleagues and business partners. He often visited art galleries and many of the lavish modelling shows. Yet he would wonder to himself what he had missing in his life.
How is it that someone who was the owner of an extremely successful billion-dollar restaurant chain felt he was missing something? A man that could literally afford to do anything. Simply because what he was missing was something that money could not buy.
Charles was a man in his midtwenties. He had dark hair, dark brown eyes, a strong jawline, and a smile that made others melt. He was charming and had the ability to convince anyone to do as he pleased. He began his first restaurant when he was twenty, which quickly became a huge success.
After a few years, he accumulated enough funds to open up another location, which quickly blew up in several different locations. As time cruised on, he eventually had a conglomerate of restaurants under his belt, leading him to become one of the youngest and most successful restaurant owners in history.
He never took the time needed to meet a special someone in his life however. He would spend all of his time and efforts on a variety of things, trying to fill his unknown void.
Chapter 2
The Deal or Seal
How is it you never seem to miss?
an older gentleman said.
Charles waited there, a perplexed emotion plastered onto his face.
What do you mean?
he answered the guy.
Well, you remarkably have gotten to the ninth hole, and have gotten holes in one on every shot. I don’t understand how you aren’t going pro yet hahaha,
the gentleman uttered back.
The other two older gentlemen with them, dressed up in goofy-looking shorts, laughed in understanding. Charles noticed the mockery but knew this could be his way into making a deal with these men.
As Charles aligned himself to the ball, he stared down the field, as if gazing at something in the distance. Whack. The ball was sent soaring through the air.
The older gentleman, aghast, responded, There he does it again, I believe that’s on the green.
Charles waited for a moment to create ambience and then responded, There’s many things in life better worth my time than going pro. I’m only good at golf because I enjoy the occasional leisure time.
The other two guys began to laugh under their breaths at the mocking remark, which was combatted by a smirk from the man who was talking with Charles.
Charles turned his gaze back to them, a smirk on his face and an eyebrow raised, and said, Now I believe we were discussing a deal between our companies. I need you to give me a better offer on the supplies you’ve been selling us. I’m currently losing profit in several of my estates due to your company’s inability to keep up with our demands, and if you cannot produce a better arrangement, I’ll be forced to take my business elsewhere.
The guy in haste looked at Charles with fear, knowing that Charles was not one to lie or bluff.
Okay, I believe you, and have my hands tied. But I don’t know what kind of deal you are looking for,
the man said.
Charles quickly responded, If you cannot speed up your delivery, then I want a 10 percent discount. That is my demand, and I will not negotiate.
The man took a swing at his ball and whacked it far to the right in frantic shock. He glared at Charles, with his mouth open, and said, You are asking us to lower our prices because we cannot keep up with your demands?
He then stopped, repositioned himself, and changed his pose.
Charles saw this gesture and stood parallel to assess, ready with his response. The man continued, I’ll ask the board and discuss whether we can meet your...
Your what?
Charles interrupted with a slight bass in his voice.
My demands. I don’t think my demands are too farfetched to ask for, but if you cannot deliver, well then, it was nice doing business with you.
He turned around and started to walk toward his golf cart with a huge grin on his face.
The man shouted out to him from behind, Fine, if that’s what you ask, then we will make the deal.
Charles slowed down with that huge smirk across his face. For he knew he has this wrapped. Charles turned around and walked back to the man. His hand shot out to shake the elderly man’s hand.
Now that wasn’t too bad, was it?
he said as he turned around and descended back to his cart. Charles grabbed ahold of the post that held the roof up on the cart and shouted back, Now let’s get to those balls.
They took off and drove to the old man’s ball, which was way off to the right. The guy located his ball, which was almost in the wood line, set up, and took a swing. The ball flew through the air and landed on the green.
Everyone shuffled back to the golf carts and hauled over the hill to the green. They pulled in close and noticed that Charles ball was farthest.
Charles grabbed on to his club, set himself up, and hit his ball in with one small swing. From the corner of his eye, he could see the old man shaking his head at Charles. The man walked over to his ball, which was only a few feet from the hole, started aligning his pose, and looked at Charles.
How is it you got so good at this damn game? You never did answer my question earlier.
Charles only stood there deep in thought as the guy tapped his ball and watched it go up around and then fall into the hole.
You get good at things when you can’t think of something new to try.
The man looked at him puzzled. Charles noticed this and asked him why.
The man responded, Someone of your stature and age should never be bored or alone. In my early days, I was out enjoying life. Especially my college days. Those were some of the most memorable and craziest days of my life.
Intrigued by this remark, Charles responded, I never went to college, and it has never even crossed my mind to try.
The man stood there startled. He answered him respectfully, "You should try it then. When I was in college, I was a part of a frat, and some of the things that we would do was more than fun. I
