    Dedication

This devotional is dedicated to you, the reader. It is no accident that you have this devotional in your possession. God longs for you to spend time with Him, studying and meditating on His Word, and living a life that is pleasing unto Him. A life full of joy, peace, and happiness is obtainable as long as you live for God and obey His Word. This does not mean you won’t have problems or trials and tribulations in your life. What it does mean is that, with God all things are possible to those who believe. God is a Healer, a Deliverer, and a Comforter. He is whatever we need Him to be in our lives.

I am grateful to my beloved grandmother, Mrs. Henry E. Grady, and to all the pastors that I have had the pleasure of learning from. Thank you all for helping shape my life and for sharing the truths of God’s Holy Word. Lastly, but most importantly, I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His mercy and His grace!

    Acknowledgments

To my husband Cedric Raby, thank you for your love and support and for understanding some nights when I didn’t feel like cooking because I needed to write. The words that you once shared with me will forever resonate with me: Our Love is Our Strength. I thank God for you, Cedric Raby.

To my daughter, a.k.a. my Princess Ashley, My Cup Runneth Over! Thank you for being my biggest fan and for always giving me constructive criticism.

To my dad, and my best friend, thank you for loving me unconditionally and for teaching me so many things about life and integrity. Thank you for the laughter we’ve shared. I love our deep conversations, even when we disagree.

To my mom, I am so thankful to God for you and for our relationship and friendship! Thank you for praying for me and keeping me encouraged and lifted up.

To my brother, prayer partner, and best friend! Thank you for encouraging me and sharing the Word of God with me. Thank you for loving me enough not to let me have my pity parties when I would call you sad, angry, and upset sometimes. Thanks for the laughter, big brother. I always hang up the phone with a smile on my face.

To my aunt and uncle, Pastor Cornel and Linda Corner, thank you both for your love, prayers, and guidance. Thank you for being a perfect example of what a Godly marriage should be. Cedric and I have learned so much from you both, and we love and appreciate you!

To all of my family members: both my father’s side and my mother’s side. I love you all so very much! Thank you all for your love and support! I am so grateful to God for having such a beautiful family and support system.

    Introduction

One of my heart’s desires is to inspire, uplift, and encourage scorned and hurting women because I, too, was once a scorned and hurt woman. I learned that the Bible has all the tools and equipment that we will ever need to live a prosperous, healthy, happy, and holy life. A life that is pleasing unto the Lord.

I am so thankful for my grandmother’s teachings and for her sharing with me the Word of God, and how important it is to have a relationship with God. She would often say to me Tonya, I can pray for you, but you need to learn how to pray for yourself, and you need to establish your own personal intimate relationship with God. I remember thinking, intimate with God, that’s not right? But we can have an intimate relationship with God. We actually need it. God can be whatever we need Him to be in our lives. He’s a comforter, a healer, a deliverer, and a friend. God will be whatever you allow Him to be in your life.

In this Devotional, I share scriptures that have helped me, and strengthened me while going through some very difficult times in my life. I found peace, and comfort in these scriptures and I pray that they will resonate with you as they have with me while on my journey of establishing intimacy with God.

Praying, Fasting and Obeying God’s Word are also key components to establishing intimacy with Him.

Prayer is having a conversation with God and when we pray, we should always give thanks to God.

Fasting is sacrificing or giving up something, it could be food, television, social media, etc. Fasting and praying combined is simply a way for you to rely on God for strength, provision and wisdom that you need.

Obedience from a biblical perspective is to carry out God’s Will for our lives. To love God is to obey God.

It is my desire that the reading of this Devotional will help you establish an intimate relationship with God and become the woman that God intended you to be. God has a purpose and a wonderful plan for your life!

People often think that you have to speak a certain way when you pray. But it is my belief that prayer is simply having a conversation with God. You can pray anytime of the day, in any place that
