Walk in Prayer Power - Chasity Lashaway
How to Utilize This Journal to Walk in Prayer Power
Within these pages, you will find different categories of prayer. They are broken down in the order in which God gave them to me. The order I received from Him while praying for this journal and how He expects me to pray for myself and others, it starts with praise and goes on to self, family, and all the way down to the little things that we think are insignificant. Just as my heavenly Father and Savior gave them to me, I hope you will follow His will and order in your prayer life.
Each tab has an introduction and helping guidelines on what the section is for and ideas and topics to pray within that section. I have prayed over every word and every page, and I hope you will use them to help strengthen your prayers. But also, know that we don’t all think alike. Therefore, we don’t all pray alike. We should all be praying and talking to God daily, boldly, and seeking Him for specific needs in our lives and the lives of those around us, but that doesn’t mean you will write out your prayers exactly as I do. Use them as a guide, but remember that you are the one and only you.
You are handcrafted by God in His perfect image. So pray your way. Put your own personal touch on how you use this journal so that it best benefits you and your walk with the Lord. As long as you are seeking Him in all things, He will reveal to you what He expects from you in your prayer life. This journal is just my way of spreading the power of God and helping you get to that point in hopes that you find a closer and more personal relationship with the Lord and to inspire you to know that there is power in prayer.
The main point of the journal is for you to write down your needs and the needs of others that you pray for. It is to help you remember the needs and requests that are asked of you. Once you know the request, you can start clarifying specific needs to the Lord. By faith, knowing that when you ask, you will receive from the Father. This book is your handheld war room of prayer and is meant to be used as such.
Write all your needs in this journal. Use it as you see fit. You may even want to have some doodles, drawings, quotes, or anything that helps strengthen you. Also always mark, check, or highlight a request when a prayer is answered so that you can reflect on your victories and give God glory. Be creative. Be yourself. Be who God wants you to be, using these pages to take everything to God in prayer. No matter how you choose to use it, just remember:
to talk to God, for He is your friend and Father;
pray without ceasing;
pray scripturally; if it’s in His Word, then it’s in His will;
continue to grow closer to Him daily and be Christlike;
and use the power that He has given you.
Use these pages to record and remember needs, blessings, and victories. Allow it to give you confidence as the warrior God intended you to be: Standing on the front lines, facing the world, the enemy, and trials head on, knowing that the Lord is your strength and greater is He that is within you. For you are made more than a conqueror through Christ. Wearing the full armor of God and being covered by His blood, nothing that comes against you will prosper. You are victorious and you have power and authority through the Lord Jesus Christ. Go, pray, intercede, and grow in God, for this is the biggest fight of life. It is the fight for souls, and we are to keep pushing forward until He calls us home. Only then will the battle be over. Only then will it be time to stop praying. Only when you stand at heavens gates and see our Savior will all your prayers turn into praise.
Walk in prayer power!
How This Journal Was Inspired
I have worked in the church and poured my heart and soul into the Lord and the Word for several years now. God has ultimately called me to be a prayer warrior. With a combination of my story and testimony, prophetic dreams, given messages sent to me by Him, and the rock-solid faith and belief in Him to answer prayers, He uses me to help others and spread the Gospel.
With that being said, my life changed even more, when the movie War Room came out. After watching it I thought, That’s the kind of prayer life I want. I wanted a direct line to the throne room, unshakable faith, and persistence in prayer that could move mountains in my life and the lives of those around me.
I didn’t have a closet with notes all over the wall, but I had a notebook and started writing all my prayers in it. I daily would get alone with God and write and pray with this book. As I continued to do this, I started seeing Him move miraculously in so many needs. I continued this for a couple years, being completely obedient and submissive to the Father.
Then one day, a friend and Godly woman told me that God had shown her my journal and that it was a published work that was going to help people develop and strengthen their prayer lives and spread the true power of the Lord. It all seemed kind of surreal, but I started praying, Lord, if you want me to do this, then please reveal it to me and guide me every step of the way. Let your will be done.
You know the whole ask and you shall receive?
Well, I asked, and the Lord sent.
Within two weeks of me being told my friend had seen my journal, I had two other people contact me, saying exactly the same thing. Both the others are ministers of the Word. One of them I know and believe in her dedication and ministry, and the other pastor I have never even met. That was the final revelation for me to believe that God wanted me to do this. These people didn’t even know I kept a journal, so God had to reveal that information to them. And for someone who doesn’t even know me but yet sought me out and contacted me to reveal what the Lord had shown them for my life could only be the mighty guiding hand of God.
With the answer to if I should do this answered with a big yes, now it was time to pray for God to show me exactly what He wanted this book to be. So I prayed daily and sought His will for everything that I needed to include and what He wanted this book to be. Week by week, and month by month, He poured into me everything I needed from layout, tab order, inserts, and every single piece. When He wants something done, if we listen and be obedient, He will lead the way and get it done. With daily prayer and guidance, I have poured my heart and soul into this journal, and as you use it, I pray that you grow in the Lord and His will for your life. May the Lord be with you as you walk with authority in prayer power! Be blessed!
Praise/Thanks
Start with Praise and Thanks to God Before You Pray!
Use this time by singing, praising, reflecting on all your blessings, or just giving thanks out loud to God the Father and Jesus, our Savior, for all they have done in your life. Do not go to the Lord empty handed. God gives all we need and so much more than we deserve. It is because of this that before you just go asking or begging Him for what you need that you be sure to first and always give back to Him, the one who gave His all for you, and do so freely and with gladness in your heart (Deut. 16:10–17).
There is no right or wrong way to praise! Everyone is different. Everyone worships differently, in their own way. Some are loud with shouting and singing. Some are dancers. Some are runners. Some are quiet with their eyes closed and may just raise their hands. Some can’t even speak but just weep before the Lord. It doesn’t matter how you praise and worship God. Just do whatever makes you feel comfortable and what brings you into the presence of the Lord.
Why We Need to Do This
1. It allows us to clear our minds of everything going on around us so that we can just dwell in the presence of the Lord.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, And the great King above all gods. (Psalm 95:2–3, NKJV)
He inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3, NKJV)
But you are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.
2. If we put praise first, it
