About this ebook

Since my teenage years, I have been passionate about anything marriage-related; I love seeing couples in happy and fulfilled marriages continuously striving to achieve their God-given calling to each other. I strongly believe that the marriage union between a man and a woman holds a special place in God's heart otherwise why would He have likened it to the relationship between Christ and The Church? The only thing that God said was not good after masterfully creating the heavens, the earth and everything in it, was Adam being alone, and how did He rectify it? He brought Eve out of Adam to be his helpmeet.

As wives, we sometimes feel that we should and can help our husbands in so many ways. After all, that is what God created us to be, helpmeets. However, the truth is that the primary and most important help we can be is an intercessor for the men whom God has asked us to help: Our husbands!

I pray that as you journey through this journal hand in hand with the Holy Spirit, your marriage will truly become everything you desire it to be. Amen.

    Foreword

I have known Tola for more than twenty years, and if there is one passion she has, it is for every child of God to have a marriage that honours God. I serve in the marriage ministry at Jesus House with Tola and her husband, Olu and time and time again, I see their commitment to their marriage and how they strengthen and encourage other couples.

Marriage is a gift from God to us His children, and His heart is that every marriage here on earth depicts the unity, warmth and intimacy of the love between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. But, though they are made in heaven, marriages are lived out here on earth, a fallen world where imperfect men and women are drawn to each other, and their hearts knit together by our Perfect Father. While our unseen enemy aims to steal, kill and destroy, our loving saviour seeks to give us abundant life and to enjoy God’s abundant life in our marriages, we need the three P’s: PATIENCE, PERSEVERANCE AND PRAYER.

When the bible states that Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour, it portrays a marriage where the marital experience is fruitful and fulfilling; where our lives are better and enriched. Our presence as wives in our husbands’ lives should always add to them, completing and not competing with them. As wives, we come alongside as co-labourers with God to help our husbands discover and fulfil God’s plan for their lives.

My prayer is that this journal will help you discover God’s power at work in you, the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead; I pray that you will grow deeper in love with your husband and realise just how much you are loved by God and your significance in His divine plans and
