Self-Test to Find What Works for You
Timothy Noakes, a famous Ph.D. in exercise science, likes to say that 50 percent of what we know is wrong. The problem is that we do not know which 50 percent that is. That is why we self-test all the scientific studies in the world means nothing to you if it doesn't help you. That is why I want you to approach this book as a hobby scientist. The only subject in your studies is your success is when you feel better.
Never mind. Randomized double blind placebo-controlled trials. Your task is to find what works for you. If you get the placebo effect and you feel amazing Why not. When you do self-testing make sure that you do the simplest experiments to make progress. You test one variable at a time, and you keep other variables relatively constant while testing.
You will also benefit from writing a short log of tests including your hypothesis how you will measure success and your results. Jeff Sutherland writes in his book scrum that it is a fairly known rule in medicine for patients to report their perceived improvement in a symptom. It has been more than a 65 percent improvement. It's difficult to notice small improvements to keep this in mind while testing. Enjoy the process.
The Feeling of Dopamine
Imagine being able to get more creative whenever you need to do you want to be able to consistently get into more confident States. Or maybe you just want to feel better is all within your reach. You just need to understand how to stimulate the release of dopamine. Studies show that dopamine makes us more confident dopamine also plays a large role in creativity.
This is partly because it boosts your brain's ability to recognize patterns. It also reduces self-criticism. We also know that higher levels of dopamine in the brain generally enhance mood and increase body movement and that release of the neurotransmitter dopamine helps to regulate the feelings of pleasure like euphoria and satisfaction.
Do not mind makes you enjoy whatever you're doing. It is the wonderful feeling of the delicious dinner. It is the good feeling of completing a task and it is the exciting feeling. Then you go. You just set for of dopamine release is probably the easiest to stimulate out of all the most important feel-good neurotransmitters. You can stimulate release of Dark man within seconds.
If you understand what it takes some of the ways you can predictably stimulate releases dog men are setting goals. Measuring your results giving yourself rewards and also setting yourself up for unexpected rewards. Taking risks exploring meditation cold showers and getting them skosh music and food. We will cover all these and this section of the book.
The Feeling of Low Dopamine Levels
The other side of the coin is having too little dopamine. What happens when you're not stimulating enough of this confidence and happiness boosting chemical not getting enough dopamine will lead to an imbalance that will make you depressed in the long run. Boredom apathy chronic fatigue and even Restless Legs are in store for you if you do not build your
