About this ebook

Author Lisa Webb firmly believes the Word of God has the power to speak to your exact situation. You can read the same scripture a hundred times, and each time it can affect you in a different way, if you take the time to meditate on it. In The Pink Parables, she offers an adventure into God’s word through a selection of Jesus’ parables.

Webb defines what a parable is, discusses the difference between parables and allegories, dives deeper into several of Jesus’ parables, and shares how these teachings can be applied to living today.

The Pink Parables encourages you to dig in and search the scriptures for the hidden treasures. Take the time to meditate, marinate, soak in the Word, and watch it speak to you.

Lisa Webb

Lisa Webb was born in Indiana and lived in Texas, California, and Oregon before moving to Georgia. She met and married a Godly “Georgia boy”, and currently lives in an Atlanta suburb. Unfortunately, her husband lost his battle with cancer in 2017, just 3 months after her mother passed away due to a long-term illness. This journey through the grieving process has given her a passion to help others grow in their knowledge of the Word of God and find their God given purpose. Webb retired from the banking industry in 2021 and has been pursuing writing and speaking opportunities since. She’s a member of her church’s performing arts team, has led the drama team, and directed several plays.

    Preface

I write this book not from of a head full of theological knowledge, but out of a heart full of gratefulness to Jesus Christ, my Savior. We are all sinners, saved by grace. When we call on the name of Jesus, He is faithful to forgive us of all our sins.

Here is a bit of my story.

I was raised in a small town in Indiana, and moved to Big D (Dallas, Texas), right after graduating from business college in the early 1980s. This was quite the culture shock. Let’s just say I felt like I was a kid in a candy shop.

The big city life and a newfound freedom of being on my own gave me many opportunities to try new adventures. Not all of them were things I am proud of. My twenties and thirties were adventures into the party lifestyle. When I give my testimony, I talk of sex, drugs, and rock and roll (discotheques in the 80s and country western bars in the 90s), but you get the picture.

The Word of God says, Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 KJV).

Thankfully, I eventually did come back to God. Over the last decade, I have had an ever-increasing appetite for the Word of God. I pray that these pages will encourage you to want this same appetite.

    Bon Appetit!

    Acknowledgments

I first want to thank God for creating me for His purpose. I thank Him for placing in me gifts and abilities. I thank Him for giving me the courage to step out and live life abundantly and to the fullest. I thank Him for walking with me through the sorrow and grief of losing my mom and my husband within three months of each other. The pain of that grief prompted me to dig deep into my soul to find the plans and purposes that He had for me, despite the circumstances. It has been a great adventure. I can’t wait to see where He leads me next!

To my friend Keith: I would not have written this book without your motivation and encouragement. Thank you for helping me document the points of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights in Chapter 6. I am grateful for your extensive knowledge of these
