Foreword
Your treatment of this important subject of A Better Covenant
certainly was an inspiring effort. After reading the Contents
and titles of your nine chapters, then reviewing your Outline
, just couldn’t wait to get started on your Introduction
. As I read along, the early chapters laid the groundwork for the early history of life Covenants
and explained that we had a Covenant God
. The later chapters developed the occurrence of the New Covenant
, and all that was needed to put away sin had been accomplished by Jesus. His crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension had removed us from the world’s power and given us a new life in the power of the heavenly world. What a wonderful development and how inspiring that is to know we are rid of sin. This paper was obviously written by one who has a heartfelt love of the Almighty, and it must be said that this work has been one of the most uplifting epistles I’ve read in many years. The overall development of this thesis as it unfolded the stories of the covenants had that careful sequencing of events that helped develop the story. The organizational structure brought forth a well-researched and beautifully executed analysis that ended in a fine Conclusion
. Nicely Done! God bless you!

A BETTER COVENANT
Are we still sinners or are we now saints?
THESIS STATEMENT: If the Old Covenant with the Ten Commandments and Ceremonial Laws revealed man’s utter depravity, what did A Better Covenant,
the New Covenant, accomplish for the redeemed? Are we still sinners or are we now saints?
Introduction
One of the most amazing things about my God, El ElYon is that He is a covenant God. Andrew Murray said, One of the words of Scripture, which is almost going out of fashion, is the word Covenant. There was a time when it was the keynote of the theology and the Christian life of strong and holy men. It will be found still to bring strength and purpose to those who will take the trouble to bring all their life under control of the inspiring assurance that they are living in covenant with a God who has sworn faithfully to fulfill in them every promise He has given.
¹
So, as we examine this fascinating subject of ‘A Better Covenant’ we will in fact see that The Most High is a Covenant God. We will proceed to investigate Israel to whom the first and the New Covenant were made. We will see that Jesus is both Surety and Mediator of the Better Covenant.
Blood and obedience have been features of both covenants so we will confirm why Jesus’ blood and obedience have served to bring about ‘A Better Covenant.’
The climax of this work will be reached when I discuss ‘The Free Gift of Righteousness’ and answer the question ‘Are we still sinners or are we now saints?’ It is my hope that as you read, you will be enlightened and challenged as I was. Firstly, we will examine ‘A Covenant God.’
