About Hope Rising
Hope Rising is about the truth that we are not stuck unless we choose to be. It is about the very real hope we have to create the future we want.
I trust that this book will inspire positive changes for you, in you and around you, or at least entrench the positive momentum that you may already have with certain trajectories.
My hope is that the message of this book inspires a journey of ever-ongoing improvement in all areas of the lives touched by those who read it.
Truth
Truth Will Set You Free
Truth is the cornerstone for any other true improvement
Truth matters… It matters a lot. It is a foundational aspect and value that determines so much of our potential success in most areas of life from the personal to the business arena and everything in between.
This is also true when related to the self. The measure of truth we use when deliberating and communicating with ourselves is vital for our own enlightenment and growth.
Knowing accurately what is ‘out there’ beyond our own person and what is ‘in here’ in our psyche, emotions, mind and intellect, helps us navigate safely through the world and through our own emotions and thoughts – and that is no small task.
If we are to successfully ‘rise up’ and realise our potential for positive contribution, one of the foundational tasks at hand is to find truth.
Truth to self
So, if truth will free me, from what do I need freeing and how am I to find and leverage this truth?
Well, to quote Creedence Clearwater Revival, so many of us are …wrapped in golden chains…
We indulge in the ultimate opulence; we sacrifice our sight of truth, for the illusion of fantasy, of excuses and of lies. To truly and powerfully wield truth in an effective manner, we first need to be thoroughly honest and truthful with ourselves.
Consider the last time someone truly angered you… Were you incensed by the absurdity of their logic or perhaps by the woefully inept execution of their task? Or were you rather enraged by what the outcome MEANT to you? Perhaps it was not the fact that you were slighted by a dear one’s words, but rather that you felt you had no recourse to properly redress the situation – I feel unheard and unimportant.
Perhaps that employee who missed the mark completely through an unimaginable amount of bad logic caused my anger, not by virtue of the additional work itself, but rather by the fact that it was actually due to me not wanting to properly apply myself in training and monitoring.
We blame the dog when it messes on the rug for our foul mood, but truthfully, the dog was just the last thing on a long list of irksome things to irk us. All too often we shield and shade ourselves from inconvenient (and frequently brutal) truths with wet paper lies…
But, in all this, that is good news… The lies are oftentimes paper thin and serve as a good point to start examining our lies against ourselves. We can quickly pluck some low hanging fruit here if we are willing to be honest
