To our Heavenly Father, God, Abba. He has given us the example of parenting perfection and a book of instruction to help us follow in his footsteps, the Holy Bible.
To anyone who is considering being a parent, to all parents in the process of parenting, as well as to the people who realize that they are becoming their parents or fear that they might.
And finally to my parents and grandparents: Rosie, who chose to marry a man with children and make them her own; Arlie, my father by birth, who, when our birth mother left, stepped up to the responsibility and did the very best he knew to care for, love, and guide us. And my grandparents Mabel and Gilbert Brood, who served as an example of a God-fearing and God-loving couple, my mentors for a joyful life in Christ Jesus.
Preface
This booklet is designed to help us be the parent we were designed to be.
It is through generations of parenting choices that the breakdown of the family unit has happened, nothing we planned or intended. Good parents still exist and we can all learn from them.
Most of the behaviors that our children learn is through watching us and those around them, so as the song says, Lord let them see you in me.
Let it be known that I was inspired to write this not because of my skills but rather out of my love: love for my Lord and the promise he kept in my life to surround me with children when I was told I could only have one by doctors, and love for my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and all the joy they bring into my life.
I believe this was inspired as much to help me grow as a parent and as a child of God, as well as the sharing with others.
Introduction
We are beginning a new generation of believers as parents. Hopefully we will be keeping our eyes on the Lord and the example he sets for us as our parent.
We will share some scriptures, some humor, and some encouragement to help keep our eyes on the prize.
Only God has all the answers in both his word and his answers to our prayers. It is important that parents be good prayer warriors on behalf of the children and when seeking help with them.
So take a deep breath and let’s begin the journey that leads to a new generation of God’s children through parenting.
And remember that only God is perfect. We all will and do make mistakes; but hopefully, through God’s guidance, we recognize and
