Positivity. Cultivating a positive mindset, fuelling your levels of optimism, and embracing positivity seem like distant goals. When someone says smile more it rankles you (as it should), but the basic idea of being a more positive person is one that resonates with a lot of people. We all know someone who is positive to a fault.
The type of person who you enjoy being around because their positivity rubs off. There is the other type of positive person, the type who overdo it and come across as fake. You want to strike a healthy balance of cultivating positivity and optimism while still maintaining your grasp on reality. You can be a positive person, while still accepting that not everything is perfect all the time.
- Being a Good Friend to Yourself
Think back to the last time one of your good friends was struggling with a tough situation. Perhaps they were very depressed or upset over what was happening. When you spoke with them about what happened, consider how you did it. Most likely, you were calm, kind, supportive, and caring toward them. These are all parts of being a good friend to someone who is struggling with negativity.
Now think about your own struggles with negativity. When you find yourself trapped in a cycle of pessimism or negative thinking, consider the ways you speak to yourself. Do you address yourself with the same kindness and patience you'd show to your best friend if they were in the same predicament?
If not, you need to practice being a good friend to yourself. The same kindness and empathy you share with others can also be shared with yourself. Practice using gentle words, understanding, and forgiveness with yourself – speak to yourself in the same calm way you'd use to speak to a friend going through a similar challenge.
Doing so is a great way to bring more optimism and positive thinking into your life, even when life is feeling especially difficult.

You want to strike a healthy balance of cultivating positivity and optimism while still maintaining your grasp on reality. You can be a positive person, while still accepting that not everything is perfect all the time.
What Is A Positive Mindset And Attitude
Your mindset is your state of mind. It's the way you feel and think, and how these influence the way you act and behave. Essentially, a mindset is an attitude, and that attitude influences the way you see the world and perceive others.
A mindset can be an individual's attitude, but it can also belong to a group of people. For example, if you were raised in a specific church, there's a good chance you will share a similar mindset to other members of the same church. You grew up in the same area, you were taught the same things, you view the world in similar ways, and all of that can shape your mindset.
That doesn't mean you will have identical mindsets necessarily, but you will share a lot of key points in common.
Another valid example would be a sports team whose coach has told them they have no chance against their next opponents. It isn't a psychological tactic, the coach has a negative mindset towards the game and it rubs off on the team and they go into it expecting a poor performance. As a result, they do in fact lose and put in the worst performance of the season.
A positive mindset simply means you feel optimistic. You feel good about the world, you believe good things are going to happen. In contrast, a negative mindset is the literal opposite. Someone with a negative mindset is always expecting the worst and they have a hard time perceiving the world in anything but a negative way.
Where a positive mindset can help push you towards your goals, a negative mindset can push you further from achieving your goals.

➢ A positive mindset helps you believe in your abilities, which can help you build the life you want to live.
The key elements of a positive mindset include resilience, mindfulness, and optimism.
· Resilience
Someone with a positive mindset accepts that things can't always go their way. When things go wrong, they feel confident in their ability to bounce back. They don't let anything stop them from achieving what they want. They might get knocked down time and time again, but they always believe in their ability to get back up again.
· Mindfulness
If you have a positive mindset, then you are aware that your brain is capable of both negative and positive thoughts. The negative thoughts don't terrify you, and you don't dwell on them, but it's important that you recognize they occur.
A positive mindset doesn't mean you will never have a negative thought, it means you know how to reflect on them and dismiss those thoughts that aren't helpful.
· Optimism
Someone with a positive mindset sees things through an optimistic lens. When something isn't going well, they can still pull positive threads from the situation. They aren't afraid of a challenge because they believe
