#2 Women don’t ask for what they want and need, and as a result, they suffer severe consequences. The difference in the rate of asking between male and female students in Linda’s negotiation class indicates that women aren’t using negotiation to promote their careers as much as they could be.
#3 Linda found that men initiate negotiations to advance their own interests about four times as frequently as women do. She also found that men use negotiation to improve their positions much more than women do.
#4 Women are often not negotiating their salaries, and this can be extremely costly for them. Not negotiating your salary can lead to outrageously expensive consequences down the road.
