Ava Walker, former foster youth, Author, screenwriter from Cleveland Ohio and the founder/President of "Arts Film and Goods Pantry" Foundation. Ava has experienced homelessness as a teen. At the age of 16 she became a teenage mother. Months after she gave birth to her daughter she was sent to another home. Ava says she grew up being ashamed of being a foster child and had a lot of anger being labeled as a foster child. Writing everyday and prayer helped turn her pain into purpose and gave her a sense of hope. As an kid and even as a young adult she was teased as a child for saying she would be a Author and screenwriter. She would carry notebooks around to write anywhere. She is excited about accomplishing one of her dreams moving to Los Angeles in June 2019 to pursue screenwriting and recently becoming a community leader reaching back to help foster youth thrive in the right direction. She hopes to become one of the greatest screenwriters in Hollywood and travel around the world to share her story and how she overcame the foster care system statistics. Ava had dreams of becoming a Author and screenwriter since the age of nine, she says at that very moment she wanted to write drama, comedy, romance and etc. to help and inspire millions of people to beat any odds that are against them and how to never lose hope. She says it is her purpose and responsibilities to help foster youth and help bring foster care awareness through writing. Ava believes her faith, passion, rejections and criticism is what fueled her ambition to bring her dreams to pass. Ava is so thankful for all the positive influences from people who believed in her, took her in while experiencing child abuse, depression and homelessness. She is a living witness that foster kids can do amazing things they just need someone to help them thrive. She hopes to create a platform where foster care awareness will be talked about more on Television, magazines, billboards and etc.Today Ava is amazed at how far she has come. She encourages herself and others to believes in themselves. She dedicates her success to God, her children, tribe and all foster youth.
