INTRODUCTION
I was a deeply emotional eater who rewarded and punished myself with food for decades. I have transformed my mind and body by learning to master the moment. I have retrained my thinking to focus on my choices in 5-minute windows, 24 hours at a time. As I learned to retrain my thoughts, behaviors, and habits my body has transformed from my worst enemy into my very best friend. As I develop the courage to step onto the global stage to share my message, my mission is to be an authentic mentor for emotional eaters everywhere and a catalyst for real change! My message is powerful and it is real. I must share the important news that there is an alternative to deprivation dieting, excessive exercise, and nonsense. I am sharing my authentic life experience to restore self-worth, a sense of dignity, and hope for women who suffer from poor self-esteem, no self-reliance and debilitating self-talk. Starting 40 years ago, my only crutch for my emotions was eating. My body grew to be bigger than ever, for me, and I felt awkward because my outside appearance was so far off how I felt inside. My self-esteem had plummeted. I was desperate to find a way to stop hating the way I looked in the mirror since I felt uncomfortable all day every day. For years, every morning I used to criticize myself and I punished and rewarded myself with food throughout my day. Each night I fell into bed feeling worse than when I woke up which was a vicious, painful cycle. I knew that I had to work on my self-esteem, for starters. I tapped into my powerful imagination and I learned self-reliance the hard way. There was no internet to seek out support when I started my journey. I loved the insights in the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. In 1937, the book came out and he never renewed the copyright license. This is my true story of how I adapted the concepts of his book of valuable lessons to my own personal journey of inner transformation from an overweight teenager obsessed with food and with pleasing my parents to dropping and keeping off 10 sizes, living with renewed energy and hope for my future. Over time, I structured my steps to success into my MTM methodology for you to follow in order because they are cumulative, which is exciting! Your starting point is to grasp that your brain is a record of your past. Your life experiences, thoughts, behaviors, and habits got you to this moment. The secret for you to succeed on a different plan back to your true self requires you to pay attention to your choices. You must give yourself permission to reach for a better feeling thought. Allow yourself to lean into your compelling future rather than dwelling on the past. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you make a change but sometimes you can just decide that enough is enough and you understand that you deserve to feel better now! Rewiring your brain by retraining your thoughts and habits is possible by following my
