About this ebook
Many of us move through work and our personal lives at a breakneck pace; there’s simply too much to keep up with in this complex world. But the result of this relentless, unsustainable pace more often than not is burnout. Young professionals, working parents, and workforce veterans are all feeling the crunch as they balance hectic work expectations with the other inherent challenges of life.
The good news? You’re still the one in control — and you can step on the brakes whenever you want. In Break Your Busy, an audio course from Scribd Coach, Peaceful Living Wellness founder and health and wellness coach Jennifer Robinson explains how you can do exactly that. Robinson’s course is designed to teach you how to take control of your life by making intentional decisions about how you fill your days. In the course, Robinson explains how to assess your level of burnout, how to make sure you have a feasible schedule, understanding your values to break your busy, tips and techniques for cutting the crud out of your day, and much more. She also shares exercises along the way so you can put what you’ve learned into practice.
If you’re feeling the heat from burnout, you can still take hold of the steering wheel once again — by breaking your busy.

Introduction
Hello everyone! I’m Jennifer Robinson, and this is Break Your Busy: 5 Simple Steps to Slow Down, Rise Up, and Feel More in Control of Your Life,
a course from Scribd. Thank you for joining me.
I'm guessing — and let me know if I’m wrong — that if you're listening to this, chances are you’re looking to make some changes in your life.
Maybe you feel that the way your life is going isn’t sustainable. You might feel that if you don’t make the changes you need, your sense of wellbeing could take a hit.
If I’m correct, I also want to point out that this isn't just true for you. It's true for almost everyone. A lot of us are moving through life at an unsustainable pace. They know that the pace of today's world is too quick and hectic, and are too busy to maintain their momentum.
That's why a lot of people are getting burnt out. This burnout isn’t just affecting seasoned workers who’ve been at it for decades — young professionals are also feeling the effects of being asked to do too much, too quickly. Professionals who are also parents feel this crunch even more, as they have to balance hectic work expectations with the inherent challenges of raising a child.
It's obvious that people in today's world, people who work in our economy and experience our workaholic culture are feeling more stressed than before. Today, burnout isn't just a label you throw around to feel good. It's become an actual clinical diagnosis.
The good news is that you're still the one in control. You might feel that you have to work at an unsustainable pace, that whether or not you experience burnout is outside your influence, but you're still the one behind the wheel. You can step on the breaks whenever you want. You can reduce your pace whenever you feel like it. You can take full control over
