About this ebook
One element of faith is trust that God's guidance will result in the best life possible for everyone. Attempts to replace God with a secular source of moral guidance haven't worked because faith is required to stay on the path even when it seems to put us at a disadvantage, and even when it seems obvious that we'll never have universal cooperation. God's call to action is love, and this requires a lot of effort. It's natural that we would seek to work smarter, not harder. However, whenever we question the purpose of our existence, the answer will be love. We should acknowledge that God is the root cause of love and trust that if we stay on His path, everyone will benefit.

Love as the Call to Action
For every religion, there's a call to action coupled with a reason for believing and complying. Although there was an emphasis on discipline and obedience in earlier times, the most recent call to action issued to Christians is to love one another. We believe and comply because it's easy to see that the guidance is for our own good. We serve God by loving each other because love builds up an orderly kingdom. Love, forgiveness and peace represent order, whereas selfishness, escalation and conflict represent disorder. Hosea writes I desired mercy, and not sacrifice
, and Christ completes this message with the commandment to love each other. However, we can't simply serve others and ignore God. We might consider a scenario where a group of people are living under the assumption that their lives are
