This book is dedicated to my children, Kelli and Joseph

and to all of God’s Children.

    For Lonnie

"No matter what happens, keep your childlike innocence.

It is the most important thing."

1 - You Were Born A Star - Now What?

Yes, it’s true. We are all born a shining star in God’s eyes. We all have been programmed to perfection with a natural stride to focus on love. As children, our imagination soared and we knew how to use it. Our little world was full of enchantment, with everything new and inspiring.

At a certain age (it varies with each one of us) something happens. The enchantment of our lives is still there but many of us are taught to focus elsewhere. We are taught to think in an unnatural way; pointed in a direction to over-think about competition, struggle, finite resources, limitation; the list goes on and on. We are told what would happen if we didn’t get that high grade, or didn’t do things the right way. We were directed to see these circumstances as more important than love.

More so, we are shown that we are all separate and that we must compete to get ahead. To make a long story a little shorter, we were given a sleeping pill. It’s such a blessing when we wake up!

Love is truly what we are all born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual path is the letting go or the unlearning of fear and the acceptance of love back into our beings. Love is our purpose here on earth. It is the meaning of our lives. The rest is merely delusion.

Love can be seen through our physical body. You know how you feel when you look upon a beautiful sunset or how your senses come alive when you are walking through the woods. Love is more than seen. Love is perceived through our third eye, the Holy Spirit, and our higher selves (that which you hold as truth through your belief system.)

Love is our memory of where we all came from. Love is energy. It is not really connected to our physical world, although it can be expressed through our world. We express love through acts of kindness, giving, compassion, joy, peace, acceptance, non-judgment and joining together through intimacy.

We all experience two basic emotions: Love and Fear. Any situation that is not seeped in love is a delusion. Fear is simply a place where love has the capacity to grow. Therefore, fear is the lack of love. It’s like being in hell when fear is conjured up as abuse, greed, addiction, selfishness, obsession, corruption, violence and war.

The enchantments we know as children are still alive within our minds and hearts. Keeping a relationship with our inner child allows us to stay connected to our innocence, our softness, our spirit. It instills in us a sense of hope and faith – that sense of wonder that we so miss at times. Retrieving our inner child is a perception and perception is a choice. For how we perceive our lives defines it. This is known as a miracle for it returns to our source, that which is Love.

2 - Darkness Vs. The Light Within Us All

My generation was brought up within the innocence of the 1950’s when parents were brought up to truly believe we could be saved by politicians and government officials. When the Sixties appeared, we hit the streets in protest, showing our concern over the war and the violence of racism. Our president was killed as was Rev. Martin Luther King. We were left feeling angry and oppressed.

Our oppression is an internal feeling manifested by fear. As humans we fear dying young, growing old; we seem to fear success as well as failure. Some of us are more frightened of life than we are of dying.

There is a tendency to blame our parents. But we end up abusing ourselves more than the people who brought us up by our self-loathing. We project these false feelings outward, creating our collective hell on earth; manifested through wars, crime and violent acts.

Okay. Now we know darkness can be sensed through our lives, what is more empowering and that which we all possess is the light within us all.

When we allow ourselves to be humbled by God’s healing light, we surrender to his highest will for us in any given situation. Until we hit the floor with our knees we are kind of playing at life. But the second we surrender our entire lives to God, it is only just the beginning. Sometimes we have to hit our bottom before we can uplift our consciousness.

Getting on our knees is realizing there is a power larger than us who can do what we cannot do on our own. God wants to help his children, just like we want to help those we love. God’s love is unconditional. We are never alone when we come to know God as the highest power within us.

    3 - You Are God!

Of course there are moments in our lives when disappointment overtakes us. These are the times when fear can seep in. It’s naturally difficult to bear; therefore, our minds can begin an endless journey to find an escape from our pain. The change we seek resides in our minds.

The things we cannot change, what we refer to as life, is in constant flux. One day we feel loved and accepted by all, the next day can turn to utter chaos. These events are part of our experience here on earth. We have no control over these fluctuations. What we can change is how we perceive these events. This shift in our perception is known as a Miracle.

A house that is built on nothing but shifting sand can be knocked down by the turning tides of life. But if we build our house on rock, nothing can budge it because we are not so vulnerable to the drama that can permeate our lives. When we depend upon the rock of God we are really relying upon love.

God gave us free will. When we choose love, we become one with God. One of my daily prayers is:

    "Dear God,

Please take all of the places

    within me that are fearful

    and replace them with nothing

    but your unconditional love.

Let your highest will for me be

Done in every aspect of my life

and the lives of all your children.

    Thank You.

    Amen

As we ask God to take our burdens, we then become free to move forward. God wants his children to remember that they have choices every moment of their lives. Thus come the miracles.

This concept of miracles is somewhat out of balance in our current culture. We want to control everything. The irony to this is that we can’t control anything.

To some, this is a very frightening idea. This is because we have the belief that God/love lives outside of ourselves and that we fear God’s judging us. The good news is that God is love, who lives inside each and every one of us. Love does not judge.

The majority may believe that we have originated God. That we created ourselves and then along came God. In truth, God created all of us. Because some of us grew up angry and critical of ourselves and others, we project these untruths of character onto our Creator.

God always has been and remains the total energy of unconditional love. God’s intention is not anger or judgment. God is everything that is compassionate, accepting, and loving. We have forgotten this reality because we took that blasted sleeping pill. Therefore, we have also forgotten who we are.

If we think of surrendering our lives to God, we tend to feel a sense of guilt and shame. We think of ourselves as failures because we couldn’t handle things ourselves. We are not meant to handle things on our own. That’s why we have God. That’s
