Sometimes you think life has a plan for you. It all seems to be written in the stars and all you have to do is strap in and enjoy the ride. I used to think that’s what life was like, back when I was naïve. Then it suddenly changed on me and I was battered and bruised and buffeted about like I was caught in some torrential storm. When I was younger I always used to think life was planned out for me. It all seemed so simple. You went to high school, then you went to college and then you got a job.
Meanwhile you met someone, fell in love and then got married, eventually having babies. Then they would grow up and repeat the process. That’s how it seemed anyway, and that’s what it seemed like everyone else I knew was doing. My parents and their friends, they all went through that process.
Well my life wasn’t that simple.
