    ***

Louise gazed absently over the table at Stephen. She monotonously chewed the food while her mind wandered, although the spicy meat made her flush and her skin prickled with sweat. The Caribbean-themed restaurant was certainly unique but she wished she’d ordered something a little less spicy, and she hated the fact that the food made her more flustered than her date did.

In truth, she knew she shouldn’t have come on this date in the first place. Nothing about Stephen sparked any kind of desire in her, and she only came because she thought it would be better than sitting at home alone.

If she had to describe him in one word it would be ‘average’. He was average height, average weight, and average looking. He wasn’t particularly funny but he wasn’t extremely dull either. He was perfectly nice, but Louise wasn’t looking for perfectly nice. She wanted someone to excite her and make her toes curl when she thought of kissing
