About this ebook

When Juliette York arrives at the local Correctional Facility to pay a fine, she is shocked to learn that a much more severe penalty awaits her.
Instead of a financial penalty, she must now face excruciating corporal punishment in the establishment's bleak chastisement chamber. Even worse is the humiliating discovery that her punishment will be carried out by a close, personal friend.

No matter how many times Juliette York read the letter it remained the same. There were no potential loopholes, no get-out clauses. In fact, there was nothing at all in there that she could use as an excuse; nothing she could plead her case with. The simple fact was, the time had come to face the music, and there wasn’t a darn thing she could do about it.

    Dear Ms. York,

As per the instructions of The Court, your appointment at The State Correctional Facility (Female Section) is scheduled for Wednesday 14th of June at 9.30 am. On arrival, please report to the main desk and present this letter along with the reference card you received at your court sentencing. You will then be directed to your designated Corrections Officer.

It is important that you arrive on time as lateness may result in an increase in sentence.

If you require transport to and from the facility, please use public transport or arrange for someone else to drive you. It is not recommended that you drive yourself.

It is advised that you suspend any other appointments or plans you may have had for the above date.

    Regards,

    O. Caine.

The whole situation had arisen from a simple mistake. She had picked up someone else’s handbag by accident while shopping at the local mart, and had been accused of theft. No matter how much she had apologised and how hard she had tried to explain her faux pas, the owner of the bag had insisted that she be detained by the store’s security while the police were called.

Her arrest had been followed by an unsuccessful court appearance, and no amount of pleading by her appointed lawyer had been enough to convince the judge to let the matter drop. She had been found guilty
