My only friend when I was young was an imaginary creature named Skyler.

Skyler was part rabbit, part owl, and part something else entirely. He had the long floppy ears of a rabbit, the large eyes of an owl, the pointy face of a fox, and was covered with a light blue fur that was soft to the touch. He had sharp jagged horn-like protrusions that stuck up off of his spine and they peeked out through his fur with a coppery glint. He had large claws with sharp talons like a bird.

But I was never afraid of him. He was a gentle creature filled with love and hope and fun. Skyler had a way of always seeing the bright side of things and never had a problem making me smile.
