    No, my mother says again.

    And I run into my room and slam the door. Again.

    For a month now, we’ve been doing this. I beg her to help me. She says no. I get mad. She stays calm. (That only makes me madder.)

    For a month, I’ve cried and screamed and begged and made all kinds of promises and tried everything.
