Introduction

Joseph could not imagine his own brothers had done this to him. The filth in the well was suffocating and the heat unbearable. He wondered if he was ever going to see his father and younger brother again. Too many things were running through his mind as he sat in that dry water well waiting for his brothers to determine his fate. He knew his brothers were talking because he could hear some of the words, but the howling wind kept interfering. The last thing he heard was, Kill him! This sent a chill down his spine because he did not want to die. God Himself had revealed to him that he was going to be a leader over his entire family. But here he was about to be killed by his own brothers. Where was God? What was going to become of his dreams?

I am glad you decided to read this book. There are too many books on money, wealth, prosperity, and how to be financially prosperous. This is not that type of book. The focus here is going to be where you fit in God’s supernatural agenda and how He has gifted you to play your unique part.

All of us are created in the image and likeness of God. We were not created just for the sake of working and building other people’s dreams and aspirations. God has a unique assignment for each and every one of us. Therefore, we must discover that assignment and get behind it. Each person on the face of the earth must understand God’s supernatural agenda for them and take action.

The path to lasting financial prosperity is found in understanding God’s supernatural agenda for all mankind. The assumption here is that you have been reconciled with God. In other words, you have accepted the forgiveness of sin that God has offered through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. If you have not yet been reconciled with God, you will have the opportunity to do so in this book.

I bring this up because your soul is more valuable than the entire world. Let me put it this way: your soul is more important than all the wealth on earth right now. If this does not make you think, then you have to reevaluate your understanding of true lasting wealth.

There will be zero attempts in this book to talk about shortcuts to wealth because true lasting wealth and prosperity do not come through get-rich-quick schemes. There are principles, laws, and processes involved in generating lasting wealth.

This book is going to be looking at the life of Joseph and discussing some of these laws and principles that operated in his life and how they propelled him from a slave to the highest office in Egypt. In fact, he was placed in charged of the entire economy of the land and had access to so much that he took care of his entire family of more than 70 people.

God had a supernatural agenda and called Joseph to be part of it. There is no indication that Joseph was the initiator, but he had to answer the call of God and walk in obedience.

Many people are afraid to talk about money, wealth, and prosperity because many have abused it. If you think this book is one of those just name it and claim it prosperity gospel message, you are seriously mistaken. There is a lot to be learned from the life of Joseph in terms of how to position ourselves to acquire lasting wealth and prosperity that even those that are already making a lot of money will still benefit from reading this book.

There is wealth that is more valuable than silver and gold. This is where we want to be operating, and this book will show you how to tap into that wealth. You may be wondering if God wants you to be wealthy or not. I think this is one of the worst worded questions that has kept many in poverty, lack and preventable misery. The first question to ask is, What assignment does God have for me? When you know that assignment and accept that you are going to do it, then you can ask, Is God willing and able to provide for me to accomplish this assignment? The issue no longer becomes that of money and amassing wealth, but that of being positioned to accomplish the assignment that God has for you.

Therefore, the resources that will flow towards you will be commensurate to God’s supernatural agenda for you. The bottom line is that God never fails and when He calls, He will provide. We have all been called, and God is more than willing and ready to provide all that we need. In fact, God has already made the provision available for us. This book is going to show you how to tap into the wealth and riches that are in Christ Jesus for you.

You are being invited to carefully consider the message that is presented in this book and not judge it based on the prosperity gospel messages that you have been exposed to in the past. You are going to realize that it is not about money, but about God’s supernatural agenda for your life and that of other people to expand the kingdom of God. There is nothing wrong with money because it is a tool, but money becomes dangerous when it gets into the hands of people who are pursuing their own agenda. This is why the first thing is to ensure that you have figured out God’s supernatural agenda for you. When you accept the call of God on your life, God is going to do everything to ensure that you accomplish that mission. If this means that you are going to be entrusted with millions, billions, or whatever figure, then so be it.

Chapter 1:

What Truly Matters

Why bother talking about wealth and prosperity when the prosperity gospel is already having such a bad press and rightfully so? This is a fair question. The issue is that money plays a vital role in our lives, and some people have used it to control and manipulate others for selfish gain. I wrote this book because the abuses and excesses of a few should not prevent others from walking in God’s supernatural agenda for them.

There is a big misunderstanding that is being perpetuated when it comes to how money is earned, invested, and grown. The prevalent message is that we work for money. This is why we are advised to go to school, study hard, get good grades, and a good degree in a field that pays well. When you graduate, you get a good job and earn a living. This message has been indirectly endorsed at many quarters, and society generally seems to be in agreement with it.

However, there is a big problem with this message. What it is actually saying is that we were born to help other people fulfill their dreams and aspirations. Does this come as a surprise when a global survey by Gallup poll found out that 85% of the people all over the world do not feel engaged in their work? That percentage is too high for us not to address this issue. These people are not necessarily disengaged in their jobs because of low remuneration. While a lack of good pay, poor working conditions, and bad bosses may be to blame, the main culprit here is that people do not find meaning and purpose in their jobs.

You may be one of the 85%. In your heart, you do not like your job, you do not want to be there, but you have to because you have to pay the bills. In short, you are working for the money, not because you enjoy the job. You do not need any study to explain why you do not like your job. The simple reason is that there is something in you that is telling you, This is not it, you were made for more, you can do more. But you are trapped because most of your education and training was mostly geared towards fitting into the mold that society has already described for you. Any attempt to wiggle out of this was frowned upon. Any attempt to complain is met by, Who do you think you are? Everybody is working a job, and this is what you must do. Right now, you do not feel like you are really living. Life has become some sort of a lie, a nightmare that you want to wake up from as soon as possible. You feel as if you have been locked in a dungeon and the keys were thrown away. There is a deep desire for you to break free, but you do not know-how.

This book was written for you. I am glad that you decided to read it. The purpose of this book is to free you from the bondage that you feel you are in. You are right in thinking and feeling that there is more to life than what you are living right now. You are absolutely correct in thinking that you were created for a purpose other than just making widgets or money for your present employer.

While people around you say that you are fortunate and blessed to have the job that you have, a part of you wishes to be somewhere else and to be doing the things you truly want to do. Don’t worry any longer because this book will show you how to move into true wealth and lasting prosperity.

Maybe you are extremely wealthy and have done well. Yet, you feel empty because the satisfaction, contentment, and happiness you thought amazing wealth was going to bring has not happened. You have been able to buy all that money can buy, but after a while, the pleasure fades.

This book was written for you, too. True and lasting wealth and prosperity come with peace, joy, contentment, and fulfillment. When you learn how to acquire wealth that is tied to God’s supernatural agenda, you will be at peace because it is not about the money, but about God’s kingdom.

The flawed idea about acquiring wealth persists

Why does this the flawed idea about working for money persist? Superficially, it makes a lot of sense to get an education and get a good-paying job. But as we have already seen, 85% of the people hate their jobs because they do not feel a sense of purpose and fulfillment. These people are working for money because, with the money, they can buy food, clothing, and accommodation. They have been conditioned to live for these things. But is this what we were created to do? Were we created to go to school to get an education, get a good job, make some money, and die? Is there more to life than working for money?
