Chapter One

I stared out my Halifax, Nova Scotia, second floor condo living room window and watched the dainty snowflakes spiraling out of the night sky and hugged myself.

Awesome. Snow for my Christmas Eve party tonight. It can't get any better than this.

I whirled around and did a last-minute visual inspection. A cozy fire flickered in my gas-powered fireplace. Garland and miniature red Christmas lights were draped over the fireplace mantle. Several evergreen scented candles flickered on the hearth.

I had decorated the nearby six-foot high white Christmas tree with red bows, little red and white Santa Claus ornaments and some dainty white lights. It looked sharp.

I had placed Christmas themed fleece blankets on my two black leather sofas so my friends could snuggle with each other while they watched the two Santa strippers that I had hired through one of my best friends, who guaranteed the men would do a fantastic job entertaining my guests.
