Growing up I loved to read and write. I read books to the kids in the neighborhood while my sisters played with dolls. I started writing poetry at the age of eleven. I wrote a poem to Jackie Kennedy when I learned of the assassination of President Kennedy. I received a thank-you card from Jackie Kennedy with her signature. I never stopped writing poetry after that wonderful reward. I thought my first book would be a book of poetry, as I have had several poems published. The Lord had a different plan. I am so excited to pen over forty interventions of the Lord in Window of Grace, as I processed the death of my thirty-three-year-old daughter.

    Dedication

I dedicate 3:33 to my daughter, my son, and my husband.

My daughter was the abundance of my life. She was intelligent, beautiful, funny, caring, and definitely her own person. I always expected the unexpected with her. That is how she made life so much fun. She cared deeply for me and always had concerns for her younger brother. She was a hard worker and succeeded in everything she put her mind to do. It broke my heart when rare liver cancer took her from this earth to her heavenly home at the age of 33.

My son was the soft place in my heart. He had the most wonderful sense of humor. He made you laugh in the direst of circumstances. When he was in jail, he sent us hilarious stories he made up. Because he could only use preprinted post cards, he would write one of three, two of three and three of three. The problem was that you might get two of three first. You had to wait for the mail to get the rest of the story. People loved him because of his big heart and his compassion for others. He loved from the inside and sometimes would not let it out. I miss him so much. At the age of 36, he joined his sister in the ranks of glory land five years after she arrived.

My husband David is the love of my life. He is my stronghold. We married when I was 50 years old. When you marry someone, you marry the kids and all. It was so difficult for him. My daughter resented him. Although she did not have a healthy relationship with her biological dad, she did not want a new man in my life. My son was a heroin addict for many years, and my husband had never been around addiction. I lived in it year after year. It was the lifestyle I became accustomed to living. He struggled with the abuse I took, my enabling, and my co-dependency, but he stayed for the long haul. He loved my children. (Our children.) He cared for them. He moved them many times, took them out to eat often, and gave them money when they needed it. They never appreciated his goodness. However, he carried me through both of these tragedies with dignity and love.

    Forward

My wife wrote the book 3:33 to tell people about our awesome God. He says to go out and tell the world about Him.

Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

    — Mark 16:15

Through the tragedies in her life, her faith and trust in the Lord has increased not decreased. Many people who suffered what she has suffered through are angry with God. My wife was very saddened by the death of each of her children, but I never saw her mad at God. These events left her emotionally depleted and broken hearted. However, her faith has never wavered. She wrote these accounts to show others that anything is possible with God.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God, all things are possible.

    — Matthew 19:26

She loved her son and her daughter very much, and she misses them every day. She often says, If I could just have one more day with them… She does have some regrets. Every now and then she goes through her if only if moment. It never lasts long. She knows it is very selfish of her to want them back in this crazy world. The plan of the Lord is always better than our plan.
