About this ebook

While serving as the pastor, the author found it was a challenging task to have a sermon prepared for every Sunday. Therefore, among all his sermon materials, he selected 52 sermon outlines, hoping they might be helpful for both pastors and lay-persons as well.

Here is a disclaimer of the originality : The author has milked many cows, but he churns his own butter. An outline is just the skeleton of a sermon. It is the skill of attaching meat to the bones and also whatever spices be added to make a tasty meal. The author hopes from these mere outlines would come many life-changing and touching sermons that would bring glory to God.

    About the Author

    1

    Happy New Year

    Introduction

because a great door for effective work has opened to me (1 Corinthians 16:9).

    I. Happiness through Fellowship

    Fellowship with Christ—1 John 1:7

    Fellowship with Christians—Psalm 133:1–3

    Fellowship with the church—Psalm 122:1

    II. Happiness through Fighting

    Fight Sin.

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons 1 Timothy 4:1.

    Fight Slackness.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold (Matthew 24:12).

    Fight Sensuality.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it (1 Corinthians 10:13).

    III. Happiness through Following

    Follow God's Call.

Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men. (Matthew 4:19).

    Follow God's Command.

Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself' (Matthew 22:37–39).

    Follow God's Commission.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name (John 15:16).

    Conclusion

    Read the Bible daily.

    Take time to pray daily.

Always think of the best of people.

Always look on the good side of life.

Accept everything that comes into your life as a gift from God.
