    Lots of people are. And there are lots of reptiles to be curious about.

    This is a black mamba snake. They are also a type of reptile.

    Almost all reptiles prefer to be wild animals. They don’t make very good pets.

    The first half of this book is about leos. The second half is about beardies.

    Leopard Geckos

    Leos have a sweet, friendly nature.

    If you want a pet lizard that is quiet, easy to keep healthy, doesn’t cost very much money to care for and is fascinating to know, a leopard gecko could be the ideal pet for you!

    Yes, leopard geckos are a wild animal in warmer parts of Asia.

    The ancestors of almost all of today’s pet leopard geckos lived in Pakistan.

    Can a gecko wag his or her tail?

    Yes, some can when they’re very young.

    Baby geckos can get so excited about seeing their food that they will vibrate the tips of their tails!

    Wake up little leo...

    Most animals sleep either at night or during the day. But leopard geckos are different. They sleep at night AND during the day.

    Their awake times are the times in between night and day. They are awake and active early in the morning, right after the sun comes up and in the evening while the sun is setting.
