Do you know ponies?
If you have your own pony, or your biggest wish is to get a pony, you probably already know a lot about them.
They’re friendly and intelligent.
They’re brave, sweet-natured and gentle.
They are patient.
We also love them because they like people. They’re always happy to see their owners.
Though modern ponies live indoors in their stalls and stables, they’d always much rather be outside with their herd, even in cold weather. Their second-most-favourite thing to do is spend time with you, perhaps on a trail ride with other ponies and riders, or in a riding lesson, or competing at a Pony Club or Gymkhana event.
Ponies are the pet you need if you want to learn to ride a horse. They are fun to get to know. Like some other pets, such as dogs and cats, they each have their own distinct personality.
Ponies also have secrets. These are interesting, quirky, and just plan odd fun facts about them. That’s what this book is all about.
Once you’ve read it, you’ll know more about the secrets of ponies’ lives than most other owners and riders know, even some of the most experienced pony-loving people!
