Introduction
After over five years of taking a break from this Lion Codes series; I think I’m finally ready to start the 5th one. Today is October the 9th, 2019. Actually; it’s my girlfriend Jasilyn’s birthday even though we’ve been on a two and half month break from living together. She still doesn’t let me too much out of her sight though. Also, it’s my Aunt Janie Jones’ birthday too! She turned the big six-O. My fiancé Jasilyn and I got her some gifts, and of course she was overjoyed with them. She likes collecting dolls and I however like collecting NUTCRACKERS!!! I also got Janie a Elizabeth Taylor
doll that I had ordered off of EBAY that I had shipped to her house.
I bought my girlfriend a $248 North Face black jacket, a $50 pair of red and gold high heels, a book called Look Me in the Eye
, (which is a story about a guy finding out he has autism later in life at the age of 40). I bought all of this for her off amazon. As for me, I didn’t find out until I was 38. Anyways! Then I bought her a $100 gift card from this nail salon in Walmart. While I was there, I got me my first ever pedicure for $48 and boy did that ever feel so good. I sat in that back-massage chair for like 45 minutes I believe, while my feet were getting soaked and pampered lol. And if that wasn’t enough, I was like why the hell not, go for it all! So, I got me a manicure for $15. After that the total came out to $63, but I gave her a $20 tip, bringing the grand total up to $83. Also, after I left there; I went to get Misses Jasilyn a $100 Kroger grocery gift card, a $50 Kroger gas gift card, a $50 Buffalo Wild Wings gift card, and of course a happy birthday card! Wound up spending over $600 on her joyous occasion and if ever a woman deserved it, she does!!! Because if I never would have met her, I wouldn’t have never learned of my diagnosis’. Just to let the readers know, she works with autistic students every day at the Christiansburg Middle School. The sad thing though is she hasn’t quiet learned how to handle me yet! Let’s hope she never gives up on me! Btw: She doesn’t get paid nearly enough for all she does at the school. She changes that one boy’s diaper 5 times a day. One of the boy’s has seizures too and has to be ambulanced out. It’s sad. As for this introduction; I figured I’d just make it short and sweet!!! Btw: I got this red colored HP laptop from Walmart the same day I got my pampering done. The first book was typed at my grandmother Kate’s church, the second one at a library in Nashville, the third at the library in Roanoke, the 4th in Nashville. This book will be most special because I get to carry this one around and work on it, anywhere I want too! Well readers, enjoy this book and version of the new improved me. BTW: Dr. P’s last words to me were, James you don’t want another 38 years like before do you, so enjoy getting the help you need for a better life

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
According to background information provided by James Phillips and his girlfriend Jasilyn Miller on interview, they indicated that James’ biological parents divorced when he was in the fifth grade. James reported that his father worked a lot and he spent most of his time with, and was essentially raised by, his grandparents. It is remarkable to note that in school, James did not have close friends
and generally avoided interacting with people. James revealed that he had one good friend in his childhood (Brent). James attended school through the Floyd County public school system and notes that his grades were okay
. Teachers’ comments would involve the fact that he talked too much
. Upon graduation, James worked at a steel mill for a brief period and entered the military in 1999. While James feels that the military was good for him and provided him with mental discipline. He notes that he received an honorable general discharge and had a difficult time adjusting, claiming that other military personnel teased and harassed him. James revealed that he has a good reputation as a worker in industrial settings. His only problem, he notes, is fitting in and he claims that he drives other people crazy
.
James reported symptoms that included frequent thoughts, switching, drifting off in conversations, that he is somewhat compulsive in terms of physical work and chores, forgetful, extremely mentally hyperactive and somewhat physically hyperactive as well. He easily distracted, easily bothered by sounds, and is quite impulsive, particularly in his verbal behavior and reaction to others. He is known for interrupting others and going off on verbal tangents.
BEHAVIORAL OBSERVATIONS
This examiner observed that James Phillips is an extremely animated and likeable individual. He demonstrated a persistent tendency to talk with an almost endless stream of ideas which were, at times, tangentially unrelated. He also tended to talk over and interrupt others. It became quite clear in the course of the interview that James has a severe communication deficit in that there was almost a free flow of information regarding what was on his mind at the moment however he seemed to be generally unable to take information in, or incorporate the verbal or non-verbal communication of others. He was in no way defensive or oppositional and asserted a number of times that he was grateful for the help and hoped that he could receive treatment that would help him improve. James also appears to be of at least average to low average intellectual ability. This is also indicated by his general success in high school and regular classes and ability to function in the workplace. James’ problem always seems to be related to interpersonal relationships and social interactions, both on and off the job. Once again, he has a history of being harassed or bullied for his peculiar behavioral presentation.

TEST RESULTS
On the Anxiety Screening Test, there were indications that James is very easily upset and disturbed by situations where he is in an ambiguous or confusing situation. He appears to grow increasingly anxious and needs immediate peer or emotional support to talk about his stress and overcome it. There are indications of some obsessional qualities and a clear and obvious generalized anxiety disorder. Generally, however, James appears to be relatively anxiety-free, until he encounters an obstacle or a conflict in a social situation where in he is generally not treated appropriately. There are no indications whatsoever of aggressive behavior in his history.
On The Beck Depression Inventory, there terms of emotional indicators, there are finances and his ability to be a provider. that are generally situational, partly out encountering confusing situations.
are no indications of clinical depression. In clear signs that James often worries about Severe levels of anxiety appear to be present of his propensity to worry and partly when encountering confusing situations.
Results obtained from the ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) clinical evaluation reveals James does not drink alcohol or take drugs. When confronted with a confusing situation or an interpersonal conflifct, James has a tendency to shut down and his reaction and distress can go on for several days or weeks. At that point. he thinks that people are against him and all it takes is generally someone saying something to him that is hurtful, bullying, etc. At that point, he needs the support of a mentor or, generally in this case, his girlfriend to talk to him and calm him down to get over the incident.
Evaluation of ADHD measures indicates clear indications of both physical and mental hyperactivity. A microanalysis of ADHD symptoms reveals symptoms of impulsivity at the eighty-seventh percentile, activity level problems at the seventy-fifth percentile, and peer relation problems at the ninety-eighth percentile. All other measures are significant for the presence of ADHD. Information provided through James’ developmental clinical analysis reveals precursors or indications for over activity and mood instability in the postnatal period in infancy. He appeared to reach all developmental milestones on time and apparently has never been placed on a psychotropic medication for emotion,.il symptoms.
Evaluation of diagnostic procedures also indicates symptoms of ADHD present in his past. There are indications to suggest that James’ mother may have many of the same symptoms in terms of social conflicts and difficulties.

Evaluation of family history reveals significant impaired function due to anxiety in his mother and it was reported by James’ grandmother that James’ Aunt suffers from autism.
Evaluation of symptoms in James’ biological brother also indicates many of the same issues and symptoms noted in James. On the retrospective scale, James obtained a score of thirty-five, which is significant for the presence of ADHD symptoms in childhood.
According to results obtained from the autism spectrum quotient, James obtained a score of thirty-nine out of fifty, which is significant for traits of autism spectrum disorder. Other measures were also consistent with these findings.

DIAGNOSTIC IMPRESSIONS
Autism Spectrum Disorder; Without Accompanying Intellectual Impairment, Severity Level One, Which Requires Support for a High-Functioning Individual DSM-5 29e.00 (F84.0) Generalized Anxiety Disorder DSM-5 300.02 (F41.1) Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Severe Combined Type DSh{-5 3t4.U rir90.2) Social Anxiety Disorder DSM-5 300.23 (F40.10)
SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
James Phillips is a thirty-eight-year-old male who has a significant history and current diagnostic findings for autism spectrum disorder. There are also indications of severe ADHD, combined type, with indications for generalized anxiety disorder including social anxiety disorder and a tendency for compulsive behavior. It is this examiner’s feeling, based on his history and these results, that James Phillips is a very high functioning individual who demonstrates one very severe, but significant, factor for autism spectrum disorder. which is a communication disorder, receptive type. Based on his anxiety and ADHD symptoms, James will often demonstrate hyperactive verbal behavior which is often tangential and intrudes or interrupts on the verbal responses of others. He is excessive in his verbal offerings however does not seem to take in the verbal or nonverbal cues and information provided by others. While he is clearly capable and very functional in terms of following step-by-step instructions on physical tasks, conversational meaning and emotions seem to elude him. Again, he is extremely high functioning. Generalized anxiety disorder is also present, in terms of his tendency to be

obsessional and worry. This condition leads him to be very compulsive in terms of completing tasks and doing things in a very regimented and exact order. This examiner feels that this personality profile is a compensation for his difficulties with autism. The interaction of ADHD, anxiety, and compulsive behavior creates a problem for James socially, when he often engages in a nonstop verbal tangent that overrides any potential social interaction or give-and-take exchange with others. This is why he has referred to his behavior as driving other people crazy
.
This examiner recommends that James could potentially benefit from a stimulant medication such as Adderall or Vyvance, designed to address his cognitive and behavioral over activity, which tends to fuel his verbal and obsessional behavior. Additionally, there are indications that he could benefit from the tricyclic or SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) medications to address his anxiety issues. The combination
