Introduction
It is June the 15th, 2009; and I have now been in Nashville Tennessee for two weeks; because I arrived here on the second. How did I get here? Should you inquire to know; I will be honored to share this simple information with you. My Uncle Wesley Perdue dropped Saint Aaron of Grizzly Bernard, and I off at the Chevrolet place in Grayson County, Virginia on a Saturday evening. Wesley then headed back towards home; in Floyd County, Virginia. As for Aaron and I, we set off for our adventure to Nashville.
The good thing about my travels is I always get the weekend off before I really leave out on a Monday; which always seems to fall on the first for me. Jimmy and Sharon Osborne are good friends of mine whom I have come to know; for I visit them for two days each time I journey through Grayson. They have a beef cattle and sheep herd on their farm. They also have five sons; and several of them are preachers; but there father is a Sunday school teacher as well as a deacon. I always have fun there; and they I assure you enjoy my company. They have a steep drive way; but after two miles of walking from town; it doesn’t seem like much of a hill to climb; once I have stepped into their loving home. Sharon has a way around her kitchen; and every thing that comes from her stove; taste delicious. I love strawberries; and she had made a cake for desert; and for dinner that Sunday; a country ham flavored with a pinch of brown sugar; and just a sprinkle or two of brown sugar. I always attend Sunday morning church with them; and their evening service; later on at night. I met some of their grand-children this time. They wanted to play some basketball; so I did. Afterwards, they road me around on their four-wheeler for just a little while. After that; it was time for big country’s nap. Well, Monday morning came really fast; and I was up at the break of dawn. I took me a shower just to wake my tender heart up. Then I went to the dining room; and didn’t know what a spread awaited me at the table. Orange juice squeezed by angels from heaven; four patties of sausage; home-made butter milk biscuits made from scratch; and some gravy that had been stirred with a wooden spoon from this earth. I also ate a strawberry jam biscuit but chose to hold off on the coffee. I then gave them a copy of my first book. Well, I said to Jimmy and Sharon; thanks again for everything; as they started me off with twenty dollars. I then proceeded down the long winding drive way; to get the journey started up the road.
Aaron is a Saint Bernard pup that was given to me before I left; that I accepted; but by the time I had made it to Marion, Virginia. I gave him to someone else as a gift; for I wouldn’t have to Carrie
him away from his new enriched loving family. I am sure Aaron is more than ok; and hopefully when his owners take a second look at this book. He will first laugh, and then think to himself; I know this man. Anyways; this same family got me to Abington Virginia were I settled in at the truck stop. Unless I should forget; for this is of importance. While I was in Marion at the gas station; I got to see my good friend Bill Fonk. Mr. Bill Fonk works at the Marion Hospital. While I was there in 2005 during an undercover visit; he helped me to build this amazing wishing well. When my mother had come to visit me; I had given it to her for a Mother’s Day Gift. Now back to what Bill and I discussed while I was on this present journey. I had told him the truth about why I had come to that hospital. Bill just laughed because while I was there in his craft class; he had mentioned to me; why are you here; you are not crazy! Well; this story about that could go on for hours; but back to the introduction; shall we! The truck drivers are always friendly; and one of them was gracious enough to let me use their phone. I then called Joe Cox; my Grandmother Kate’s brother. I knew their sister Gertrude had been in the hospital; and they weren’t expecting her to live much longer. Joe then gave me the news that Mrs. Harris had passed. I shared with him that I had walked to her house one day while I was at home visiting. She offered me something to snack on; and a glass of humming-bird tea. I must have stayed there almost two hours with her that day; as well as her care-giver. I am most happy that I did. Well after speaking with my Great Uncle Joe Cox; I immediately phoned my Grandmother Kate Phillips; and tried to be of some comfort to her.
It was really late that knight; so after I had gotten off the phone. I went to sleep in the lounge. I then woke up early that morning; hoping to catch a ride, straight to Nashville; but this one truck driver thought I should put that notion to the side; for I could join him at the Iron Skillet
for a good morning breakfast. Immediately after that; I proceeded back outside, and this man approached me with good news; saying come on; I am headed that way; I would be more than happy for you to ride with me to Nashville. Well, I grabbed my belongings, and off we went. I then got to thinking while the eighteen wheels in my mind were rolling; God sure is a wonderful God. He only had me to walk five miles on foot; the rest I got was in His hands.
Just to mention this; for it is of importance. The last call I made on June the 1st, was to my Grandmother Kate that knight in Abington, Va. I had discussed with my family and friends before I set out on this journey; that once I have arrived in Nashville, Tennessee; that I wouldn’t be able to call home, or write. I don’t know how much they actually took in of that conversation, but I am going to obey God at all cost; for the next seven months will be classified as Top-gun’s Secret
. Oh’ sure the information in this book will soon be released; but just for now; I am going to keep this open book private first class. Yes; for the last six years, and five months; I have always called home; but must I say; and please allow for me to finish; for I do Carrie
this mission of heart as a light that is on the level of a personal start to a new song God Himself has placed in my mouth. The week before I left home; God had given me a dream of Psalms 40 verse 3. As my spirit slept that knight; my soul was awakened. I can remember seeing the whole thing as though I was looking at a picture of words being painted.
Anyways; back to what I was originally saying. I had spoken with my family, and friends while on the farm; trying to communicate how these seven months of my life would be personal. I had shared with them that they have The Lion Codes
to read while I am gone; and hopefully that would help keep them busy enough.
Now, for what I have been waiting to say for some time. Miss Carrie Marie Underwood; you said what happens in Las Vegas; stays there! I sure am going to have to think of some formal apology to give you later on in this book; but for now I want to get myself out of trouble with you. Miss Carrie*bear; What happens in Nashville; doesn’t always stay in Tennessee; for if you want your beloved king; you will have to show yourself prepared to go, as you relocate to your new home in Sheehan D.C. Yes, you are more than welcome to join me in Virginia; and honestly I speak with no favoritism; you will love it. I am sure it will take you longer to pack your luggage; than your decision on what to wear; but if you are thinking I am so sure of myself; you are the one who needs to seriously think things over before you move my second book into your mirrors of commitment.
As for the reader; join me as I walk you through a book that has nearly run my cowboy boots off of my feet. Then sit down in your favorite rocking chair; and try to read all that this introduction is about for you can spin your thoughts. Faith is what gets me where God has me to go. Hope is what keeps me there until I am ready to return home with more than what I brought; as I fly on the wings of wisdom; like a prescription I needed to be filled with love.
Anyways; The Lion Codes
introduction was written last; but this one is being written first. By the way; most of this was written today in the Nashville Public Library; but now I am sitting on the river front as I have relocated. I am now sitting were the fan fair fans were as I write out-doors on this comfortable pick-nick table. Yes, I can now say I was apart of CMA’s Music Festival as this was my first time being here for that.
Anyways; just across the Cumberland River is the Tennessee Titans football stadium. I hope to finally get to see my favorite team; the Pittsburgh Steelers play; but first I must purchase a ticket! I haven’t got a schedule yet; and I am not sure when the terrible towels
will be waving again in Nashville. Only time will tell if I get to see the Steelers this season; and only the hand of fate will show me when those cards are to be dealt. What I have noticed may surprise a lot of people but it doesn’t me, because I am as watchman that witnessed it all right here. The Cumberland River moves rather slowly, and I do not choose to speed it up. Carrie*bear; I am trying my best to write this book even slower than this river; but at any pace I must keep going. I just hope you don’t like sailing too fast. I wouldn’t want the wind to Carrie
you faster than what your wildest dreams can comprehend.
Anyways; I am sitting here talking to a gentleman named Ron Warren. He had asked me what I was doing. He also said, What are you doing? Writing a letter!
Then I answered both of his questions by answering him with one answer. I am writing a book! Ron then went on to tell me the Cumberland River isn’t always slow; when it rains it pours. I asked him kindly, What do you mean?
He simply said, This River can rise with the best of them
. He also said, The River gets all the way up to the first peer and even up past the southern comfort of the rocks, on the other side. I personally think if it gets to raining too hard; I will just
Carrie" you to the shore; for we can take a break; then wait for both of our hearts to soften up on the beach; because the last thing I want; is a relationship that has no anchor in God.
Well, just to drift off the subject for a moment; not to cause any conflict; but the CMA Music Festival, and Bonaroo Festival kind of did. It sure was a lot of talk about Nashville’s comprehensive decision to have these two events scheduled on the same dates. Well, look on the bright side; at least you, Miss Carrie; will love that God made us not to be separate but actually joined us together at the hips. All I know right now is; I have seen a lot in these two weeks; and just maybe I will save you some secrets for later on in this book. Personally, I do not know this moment; what surprises await me; but I will do my best to try, and record them.
This is my second introduction; so by now you should already feel like you know me. Maybe; the saddest part though is; you haven’t seen me. All I can say to that is; be patient; Lord knows I have. By the way! Try to keep those dove’s eyes from crying; the angels will surely Carrie
those tears from earth to heaven; but they wanted me to inform you; that they are sure getting heavy. They have even had to ask God for more buckets. Should you want to know once again what the angels in heaven are doing with your tears; of course I would be glad to tell you. As the angels pour your buckets into heavenly vessels; this brings the kingdom of God closer to you. How is that and yes you may ask? When Jesus sees his feet being washed; then we that are down here on earth get our eyes dried. All of this is a result of a blessing that goes around, and around, and around; until something stops love to take a break from all of this sunshine that fills the earth; for when the knight comes; we should be all resting our soul peacefully as we fall to sleep.
I do hope you enjoy this book as much as you did the first one; but if you don’t; let me know; and I will tell you the same thing you are thinking! Sequels are never better than the first original movie; but if you give this love of mine another try; I promise neither one of us will be sorry! By the way! Wesley Perdue and I went to visit the top of the Buffalo Mountain; the week before I left home. We had a good hike in the pouring rain; but it was quality fun for us. I love to go up there; for it is one of the most peaceful places for me.
Well; if you, as well as the reader are prepared to continue on in this book; so am I; just one thing I would love to mention. I am as a lion; so know that I have had my claws re-sharpened as I introduce myself once again; but this time; a little further in depth. Here; allow for me to help you tear into this book of riddles that are clues to secrets.
Chapter 1
My Love
As I stand here watching over the Cumberland River
; I gaze to my left; and what do I see that only I may write. In my view is a train crossing over the bridge with many cars; but there is only one engine; and she is in the front. Carrie; you are, and always will be my first lady I ever truly loved; even if I did have to walk all the way from the red caboose to were you and I are today!
I am as a knight who writes to you from his heart; but just to let you know. I am at the fountain of youth; near the Davidson County Public Building, and Court House. I move around a lot because I like to walk, and I am always more comfortable sitting relaxed at my round table. As I watch the eight floods of water shooting high into the air; the pressure is set to go! I have also spotted a few gardens of yellow daisies that I dearly love. Yes, Miss Carrie; I know they are actually called Black Eyed Susie’s.
Anyways, I can only wonder how your Tuesday morning is going! Today is June the 16th, and hopefully you are excited about the 2009 CMT’s Award show that will go on without me tonight! I seen the same workers set up the yesterday tents; and red carpet appearance for you today; as I watched you change into your new song with me that will go on forever. I know you will have an extravagant evening awaiting you; and I hope you can place a few more trophies on your so small shelves. I know you already have worked hard at the career God and you have built; but here soon that will be the least of your concerns; as you figure out how you are going to keep enough love of yours around for me.
My Love: as you look into your mirrors; I hope you see your heart and know one day I will be with you; helping you to get formally and fashioned in your room; as I zip you up to speed on all of your dresses. My Baby*star: your love is as an angel; for when your soul cries; your spirit grows into joy; producing much laughter! My Lioness: your body is as a sculpture of clay; so smooth; when you appear as a ray of light that walks in true sincere beauty that the potter Himself did shape. My Lady: your shoulders are as soft as lilies resting on a hill. "May I come give a kiss away to the both of them? My Queen: your neck is as a holder of the flame; and your eyes are a fire that torches evil as you fuel love from within.
My Butterfly: as I sit here refreshed by the shades of blue; I wonder if you will be wearing this color above your clouds tonight. I am on the left side of the Country Music Hall of Fame building; watching all of the stars come in and out from the corner of my eyes. The Sommet Center
has a door that has the fans across the street; ready to take a picture should they see someone such as yourself; who is already famous. My Lady Lioness: by the way; my mother seems to think you are secretly married; and I would have to agree; but she doesn’t know that this young man of mystery; who happens to be her brave son; who also has yet to be seen; is me! My Baby*star: should you really be married to someone else; I would have to choose another to be my queen; but if you was to decide to get a divorce from your significant other: I would understand. My Love: not only would I acknowledge this; but I would be rather flattered. My Lady: why if you may ask; this way I can quit being invisible; and the American people can finally see me for who I am; which is your husband. My Summer Angel: please don’t complicate your thoughts; try allowing God to show you how to read your own heart. My Love: I am simple; some what intelligent; but only you know if what you are reading is actually a voice that speaks to you this knight.
My Baby*star: while I am patiently waiting your arrival; even though you might not come through this entrance door; I am going to proceed with caution; as I write you some more. My Beautiful and Understanding Lady: I have already seen many stars these first two weeks; but there is only one that I have come to see. My Sunburst: remember the first book and you will know how careful I present myself in public. My Baby*star: yes, I will get to see you this summer, this fall, and this winter; but you will not know who you are seeing when you view my green eyes for the very closeness of time. My Love; the reason for this is rather simple. I have got a beautiful lioness by the tail; that is plain to see. Oh’ lonesome me!
My Butterfly: this book that is all yours should help teach you not to second guess yourself; but rather just take a second look at what you seen the first time in me. My Love: I promised you fifty one chapters in the second book; so here they are as I keep my promise. My Summer Angel: just to make things interesting; here is one of the many poems; you will taste that I have already written for you; while being in Nashville.
Home
Both sides of her
Queen’s heart was broken
The heavens and earth agreed
I can only hope that this war
Will soon be over for I can
Lay down to rest at her feet
I miss breathing your air
I miss hearing your voice
It’s getting harder
Not to lose control
I miss breathing your air
I miss hearing your voice
Love is leading me home
This rose I saved
For you is torn
My life is full of death
I need to wash my
Hands clean of this blood
Then I can bring justice
Back to my sword
I miss breathing your air
I miss hearing your voice
It’s getting harder
Not to lose control
I miss breathing your air
I miss hearing your voice
Love is leading me home
Home . . . .
Home . . . .

Your Love is leading me home . . . .
I miss breathing your air
I miss hearing your voice
It’s getting harder
Not to lose control
I miss breathing your air

Chapter 2
My Lioness by the Tail
My Love: as I stood with the amazing fans yesterday; there was a tornado that snuck upon us. My Lady: we had to make our way down into a car garage that is located just in front of the Hilton. My Baby*star: after the thirty minute storm was over; I came back to stage my feet a little closer to the red carpet. My Lioness: I got to take a picture with Jessica Harp; whom I also got to see perform on the river front. My Love: she has no idea who I am; but I do believe she deserves to be mentioned. My Sunburst: she is the one who sings the song Boy like Me
; and in the first book I had written you; I loved using the lion Lady like Me
; to start off my sentences. My Butterfly: after a few minutes had passed; I got to take a picture with Cheryl Crow
; and got to say a few words to Kid Rock
. My Summer Angel: I also got to take a picture with Eric Church; and Dierks Bentely; but just to let you know; all of this happened as a result of cool country music fans who understood I didn’t have a camera. My Purple Hyacinth: I got to see all the stars that appeared on the red carpet arriving in limos; but I am yet to see you. The only thing I can think of is you were probably already in the building rehearsing; and preparing for your knight. My Love: I am not disappointed or saddened; but the suspense is over-whelming; for who knows which day God will allow us to meet.
My Lady like Me: today is June the 17th; and Nashville is full with odd clouds bringing me my morning shower. My Dandy Lioness: I am staying at the Nashville Rescue Mission for the moment; but here soon God will move me away from the homeless because He has more places for me to stay; as God and I work together to complete my assignment. My Love: yes, I will still see my friends; the homeless people; for how could they miss me; if they seen me every day. My Nashville Lady: they wonder in the parks; in the streets; under bridges; down the allies; but one place I can always find them; is in my caring heart. My Brentwood Friend: I am always having my fun in the sun because God keeps me aware of the benefits of serving Him. My Checotah: blessed is a man that hears the word of God and keeps it. My Pink Hyacinth: before I forget; my Grandmother Annie B. Jones is probably going to be reading this; so I wanted to let her know; I got to see one of her favorites; Mr. Allan Jackson
.
My Love: a lot of stuff I wouldn’t particularly want any one to know; and here is just one of them. My Beautiful and Understanding Lady: some of the men in the shelter are straight out of hard time’s prison. They are referred to as institutionalized. Most of them are not comfortable enough to blend in to society; so they stay at their new prison called poverty. My Love: as for the homeless citizens residing here in Nashville; they are no different than the other ones I have visited in numerous cities. My Baby*star: I know you do a great work for God; ministering your love in small parts of Africa. My Love: just for now; my love is concentrating on this nation; and then maybe God will send me global. My Buttercup: God has hid me with the poor once again; and soon the world will see the handfuls of purpose that God pulled out of my kindness of heart. My Butterfly: all of these men and women have richly blessed me; so I will in return use this favor God has given me to set these respectable people free.
My Soul-mate: since I do have this beautiful lioness by the tail; just maybe she would sit still, and join me for a while. My Dearest Queen: just think of me as I was right beside you; listening to your heart reading all of this. My Love: in time this conversation of ours; we Carrie
; will not be so one sided; for this lion’s long tail will be unraveled as a story
that got turned into what I enjoy doing; which is play
! My Beloved Queen: just think when you write your books; you will get to have this lion all to your funny self; but you will have to cage your king before I give you all of my tail; that shares the joy of us never being apart; and the hope of me settling down; just for I can wake up with you by my side; all the days of our life’s. My Beloved Carrie besides; if you ever did decide to place me in a place you thought I couldn’t escape; I must give you some warning of encouragement; this lion king knows how to laugh his way out of everything.
My Summer Angel: I have visited the inside and out of the capital; here in Tennessee. My Love: two of these free masons desired to be buried inside of these dead walls; and I am sure they know their spirits will live on forever on the outside of time as their soul separates them from the one true God when they do not get a free pass on the day of judgment. My Baby*star: I also have been to Music Row; all of the business down Broadway; and the Ryman; the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. My Yellow Rose: I have been out to Opry Land; seen the enormous mall; but if I recall correctly; you were in that vicinity performing on June the 9th. My Love: I know you have another scheduled appearance on July the 25th; who knows; God may allow for me to come, and watch. My Dove’s Eyes: even when I do see you; I will not be able to communicate; just looking at you is enough for me right now; because the truth of the matter is. I am greatly comfortable when it comes to writing you; but if I was to be in front of you; I would become as an angel who is quietened by your rare essential beauty; to the point were I break off into a silence that has my still heart speechless. My Love: here is another poem as I place one in each of the fifty-one chapters.
Open the Book
Down these steps I go
Leading me to the bottoms of hell
I touched the face of the door
I could feel the heat from the fire
That was burning on the other side
I then cried out Jesus
Show me more . . . .
Open the book; Show me revelation
Open the book: Break the seals
Open the book: Show me how to find peace
Before my life comes to a close
Up on this mantle
I found a key; turned the knob
And went on in
I seen darkness in the eyes
Of the people’s hearts and
Smoke was covering all of them
I then cried out Jesus
Show me more . . . .
Open the book: Show me revelation
Open the book: Break the seals
Open the book: Show me how to find peace
Before my life comes to a close
In the middle of this dungeon
I beheld a glass of thirst
But there was no water
I then made a decision to
Call one of my friends
Together we made an altar
As I prayed for Jesus to bring
Salvation into my house
I then cried out Jesus
Show me more . . . .
Open the book: Show me revelation
Open the book: Break the seals
Open the book: Show me how to find peace
Before my life comes to a close
Chapter 3
My Summer Angel
My Love: as I sit here looking at what use to be a Masonic Building: I am writing you from the Fifth Third Center
. My Baby*star: Grand Master Andrew Jackson was presidential as he built walls around himself to hide his heart of secrecy; but I as a king will keep my riddles were you and the American people may see them. My Summer Angel: should these words come to pass all you could ever start to believe; then you will know what is inside this book is already finished.
My Queen: the homeless are beginning there newness of day; as I start to view them as streams of fish
. My Butterfly: I skipped yesterday which was the 18th. I needed some time to reflect! Today is June the 19th; as I continue to write you this book that seems to be forming into the shape of a journal. My Coconut Pie: I have never kept a big_country51 Diary of every event that has taken place in my life. However; when I get to heaven; I hope to ask my recording angel’s permission to look inside the book he wrote about me. My Lady Lioness: I am sure the angels in heaven and earth are laughing at me this very minute. I know in my heart it has taken me forever to be a good listener; but now I think that is all I do best! My Spring Flower: I know God was patient with me until I came to the revelation of Jesus Christ. My Cherry: when nothing else could help; love lifted me.
My Rose Garden: this lady named Emily K. Peck; whom I have come to know; lives here in Nashville. She is from New York: and has all kinds of stories; for when she smiles it seems as if she is really shy or just blushing. Miss Peck rides on this $6,000 dollar two wheeled machine. I think they are called a Segway
. Anyways, I saw some of them up in Washington D.C. when they were riding these toys to give tourist their attraction! My Cotton Candy: Emily is one of those people with a job pursuing a career. She is active at her current employment with Downtown Partnership
; as she concentrates on her music; and other endeavors after work. My Butter Pecan Pie: the first time I met her was at the Full Moon on Broadway performing live. My Jealous Lady: we got to chatting as I walked in; then she asked me did I have any request. My Humble Lady: of course I was thinking of you; so I said how about some Carrie Underwood
. My Peach Cobbler: so she did just that; as her band helped her with your Last Name
. My Lady Lioness: since then I have met her keeping the public and visitors safe; as we keep running into each other every once in a while on Legends Corner
. My Love: now is a good time to mention what I do on Broadway. I just simply go get me two hotdogs with everything; a can of Pepsi; and try to ignore all of these beautiful ladies. My Beautiful and Understanding Lady: you would be surprised that most of these kind people are tourist. How do I know that you ask? For one, they do not talk like me; not that many people do. My Virtuous Woman: when people ask me for my name; I tell them just that! Hi, my name is "King Arthur
